DLC 19 Speculation

5 days! If we don't get a New World primate I honestly will probably give up hope! But I'm optimistic and I'm sure it'll be a good pack regardless. But I still really can't believe we got the sifaka before a NW primate, like what?! It still baffles me. I really hope we get the double primate treatment again, but I don't think it's super likely.
. I mean, I agree, spider monkeys wouldn't move much more realistically than the sifaka, but the (black) howlers I've seen really aren't that crazy. They don't brachiate, so the tail animations are probably the most unique thing, right? After their morning calls, they kind of just foraged (snacking on browse) and chilled out at the zoo I interned at. Very different from the spider monkeys, which were quite a bit more active, though they all take a nap together on the ground every afternoon.

Im feeling this is the last pack or maybe they finish it off next pack with the official last 20th pack for PZ.

The zookeeper was probably supposed to be the last; they just got surprised that PC2 did so badly. As long as Frontier needs it, I think they're going to keep taking our money, and if they were planning a PZ2 for the future, they probably want to be more careful so it doesn’t happen like PC2
Melbourne zoo regularly exercises macaws down the main pathway of the zoo (between the main entrance and the playground)… Australia’s pretty strict on these things.
I'm inclined to be cautious about it in general, because marketing is marketing and there's been many cases where certain phrasing has made people believe "big things" were coming (aka things like birds) when they at the end of the day weren't. I'm just going to see that as a way to create extra hype, but not as a promise or anything like that.Well in November or December Frontier Unlocked they said "there is still a lot to come" for PlanetZoo, which doesn't sound like just a last goodbye pack, but I might be just too hopeful
That being said, I tend to agree with the observation of @Artemisya that the negative perception of PC2's release probably was a major contributing factor to us getting at least one more DLC this year. The celebration theme (endings don't have to be a bad thing), the "Parkmanagers Pack" equivalent, the focus on "highly requested" animals in the marketing (not going to make any comments on whether those really were the most highly requested ones); it's not unreasonable to assume that it was meant to be an ending pack that didn't turn out to be the end. It would have made sense to have ended on a celebratory note in a community that is always very "end of the world"y about something that's inevitable to come
I'd say we're in a limbo state right now where the further success of PC2 and JWE3 will probably have the biggest influence on how many packs were still going to see. At the end of the day, we get more animals, so yay to us haha!
There are rumours as well that JWE3 is not comming out when it was supposed to come out. That and the devestating release of PC2 kind of puts pressure on PZ to perform extra well, because money has to come from SOMEWHERE at this point.

We will see what we get, and we might hear if we got more. I know we keep saying this. But say we do get some large pack. Like we get something like an arboreal pack with double the normal animals and we get a bunch of birds in the WTE. Then I will safely assume it’s done. Or maybe it’s a bird pack, or Americas, or another World Wide theme.

That puts me in a weird in between spot. On one hand the uncertainty of it all might mean we will get more animals which is good. On the other Frontier might make the DLCs more safe and cost effective. So we might not see crazy new free updates, cool new animations, and basically more of the same.
So if you like how Frontier picks their animals you will be a-ok. If you are like me it might be a bit more up in the air. But who knows, maybe we do get a “bird pack” as Frontier tries to ramp up sales and interest. Then I wouldn’t have as much legs to stand on when it comes to my complaints haha.
I think we should expect things like the past few years aka smaller free updates and still cool new animations but in the same amount as we've seen these past few years. We're just at a point where the latter isn't that needed anymore given the extensive library of animations they already have.
Keep your expectations low and you'll be happily surprised if they're going over them is my motto haha

We have gotten a relatively big update recently with the petting zoos and change in walkthrough habitats with the barnyard pack 2 updates ago. People seem to act like we’ve only had small additions when that was relatively recent. Do I think or count on something big happening? No, but I won’t act like it has been FOREVER since an update happened
That is true, TBH I feel like if there is gonna be some “big update” it would be something like:
- Herding mechanics
- Fixes to climbing
