DLC 19 Speculation

first of all, i just joined so hi everyone.

second of all I'm surprised no-one has suggested the possibility this is just a new world pack and the final 2 picks are just echidna and perentie
Welcome
Not the best choice you will ever make. Regardless we share our passions for many animals and what we have seen in real life.
We frequently argue about south Americas, birds, new world monkeys, exhibit types, how much we disagree with other peoples wishlists
As said above
Welcome to complete chaos

If anyone wants I've created a tierlist maker of how you would rank all the different animal options we've talked about - just to save some people time from typing :)
(Let me know if I forgot anyone)
The boredome deer, maybe the pudu, scarlet ibis and roseatte spoonbill, the southern screamer, burrowing owl and roadrunner. Brazilian tapir was also mentioned as another clone. And there was discussion about armadillos.

yeah I don't have problems with most of these honestly I'm happy with whatever. The exception to this being more camelids because with the alpaca 2 packs ago I do not need anymore

Oh no guys a horrible thought and realization just came to me. With all that "ranch" scenery in the cover art... what if... the remaining animal... is... texas longhorn cattle.

As cool as they are on their own, what would be even worst than a bobcat or a white tailed deer for me would be another domestic 😭😭😭😭

I added a macaw, eagle, toucan, condor, mallard, green anaconda, tamandua, bonus tamarin(s), black footed ferret, turkey, agouti, musk ox, bush dog, wood duck, and wapiti.
  • Screams of Happiness: my favorite, most-wanted animals
  • Standing Ovation: Very important, useful, and impressive additions I would be thrilled to see.
  • Great: Also very strong, but a slight step below the previous tier for me
  • Pleasant Surprise: I don't expect these, sometimes for the difficulty of implementing them, but they would be very cool.
  • No complaints: Solid choices that I could live without but would be happy to see, ideally a bit later
  • Maybe someday: I don't think they'd be good for this pack but I would like to see them someday if we get 50+ more animals.
  • Minimal interest: I don't hate it, but I'm not factoring them into my pack ideas even as filler right now.
  • Please no: I don't want to pay for this and don't think it adds much value.

Australia is functionally part of the old world with many groups of animals such as parrots and rodents being the old world variety in Australia with only the marsupials being distinctly shared between the new world and Australia even so there is an old/new world dichotomy amongst marsupials to.

The term old world usually is in reference to the evolutionary divide that happen when a group of animals got stuck in the americas and speciated resulting in very similar groups of animals across the atlantic ie bison, porcupines, parrots and monkeys.

Australia is almost entirely absent from this discussion being found by white people after the term was already familiarised to reference the Atlantic split. It also feature no major old vs new world comparisons so there was no desire to assign it a grouping but is generally either left out alongside parts of south east asia or assigned to the new world arbitrarily even though the continent it shares the majority of its non mammalian fauna and flora with is africa and asia. ]

Also most of the animals they picked are not heavily associated with the split aside from the saki and maybe the flamingo and the scenery is too heavily inspired by Mexican and by extension spanish colonial influence to be a strong new world theming.

just had a thought and looking back at the teaser how sure are we that it will be a hybrid pack and not just an animal pack because to me the only confidently new piece of scenery is the banner which since every animal pack has included signage for the animals it could just be that. Aside from the banner there is the potential sombrero and flowers, plants are usually part of the free update and the sombrero could be part of the free update as a giftshop prop.
