Seconding this. Pretty much why I've been practically absent from here until now. I'll also add that things are starting to feel a little dragged out. As much as I love the prospect of more species, it kinda feels like the game's just barely chugging since barnyard and Zookeepers prolly should've been the end outside of a sequel. (I'm absolutely making the dumb decision to stay up late to watch the unlocked though.)

I mean, I get it, I’ve been in that boat for awhile.

Look, I’m gonna guess the next pack, and I hope I am wrong:
  • 6 mammals
  • 1 not mammal (bird/reptile)
  • Scenery/ props, maybe around 50-60 pieces
For what I need in the game, it just doesn’t really apply to me anymore so I don’t feel like I can get that excited about it. I’m not expecting anything crazy or new, the game is gonna be 6 years old at this point. Still, I and others have been asking for certain things for awhile, it would be nice to get them.

Honestly I’m mostly active on the forum just because I like talking to all of you about animals! It’s been fun speaking to people around the world. I’m actually sad when I don’t hear from someone in awhile.

Hmmm. I was focused more on the general theme name rather than the features coinciding with the pack. But fine. I'll play your li'l game. Consider that pelican swapped out for a fishing cat!

I'd go with bush dogs but I'm not sure they can "deep dive."

Agreed! I'm all for letting myself get excited, feeling anxious as the news unfolds, etc. Even if things don't go the way I'd like them to? Getting there is a big chunk of the fun, anyway.

But I also spent like, 2 hours last night trying to clean out the blueprints that I've horded over the years. It's not like I don't have plenty to do in this game as-is! 😄

Yeah I've been at that point for quite a while now...and rarely play PZ anymore aside from the occasional "inspirational period" that unfortunately doesn't last long.
I do still enjoy reading and participating in the comments sections here though. I have a ton of good memories playing PZ that I still get the nostalgic feeling about new content even though I haven't bought a DLC that wasn't marked down in about 2 years.

It's impressive how wildly inconsistent their socials are. When they first announced the Unlocked they said there was going to be Planet Zoo news. Now, on the day of the stream? The PZ socials shared a link to the stream but the posts don't mention the fact that there's going to be news for Planet Zoo players. Just that it's the first Unlocked of the year.

The Elite Dangerous post was similar (except they got those live drops or whatever). In contrast, PlanCo gets a "sneak peek of what's coming up in Update 3? 👀 "

Based on this I'm now really thinking all we'll be getting is info about the next round of console DLC, maybe a reference to the remaining packs being released for console later this year, and a reminder for PC players that we have at least one more DLC coming ("but we'll have to wait a bit longer to learn what that's all about" or something).

EDIT: Never say never, obviously, but I was just sharing this to try and set expectations as some folks seem to think it's a foregone conclusion that we'll be getting a teaser.

I've been totally disengaged with PZ for a while. Don't expect much from this stream outside of maybe the next console bundle and hinting at future DLC. Part of me wants to see them just wrap it up so I can fully immerse myself in mods without worrying about them breaking with updates while the other part of me wants to see them add a bunch of ground/wading birds.

The fact that they didn't specify anything about exclusively talking about console is annoying me because they have done so in the past, but whenever anything new has been announced they have hinted at it as well... I don't have high hopes for anything new this evening but I'm very uncertain.
