DLC18 discussion and predictions

Girls&Guys, I know it sounds a bit crazy, but if...

If the "highlands" keyart, teasing Palla's Cat / Hamadryas Baboon / Markhor, was just the first clue for a bigger thing ?

They said something like "stay tuned for news in a couple of weekS" (the "S" is important). Imagine next week we have a teaser, with a same-style keyart, but now in a rainforest theme, with (just examples) Coati / Goodfellow’s Tree Kangaroo / Black Howler Monkey, and next week a new teaser in an "grassland" theme (Secretary Bird / Patagonian Mara / Grey Crowned Crane), and next week, etc.

For a BIGGER final pack, like "World Tour Animal Pack" ? 👀

Let me dream please...
Or they said "weeks" because we won't get an announcement til this Friday which is more than 1 week from when the livestream took place.

Wouldn't the fact that there's a song titled after echidnas only compliment their high demand and therefore reason to be added?
No, it just give a reason to the word being in the dictionary.
And if was added to reference creatures of Greek mythology, why echidnas specifically and not ones more people recognise like cerberus and minotaurs?
Because echidna is one of the most important monsters in Greek mythology, like Cerberus, Nemean lion, hydra and Sphynx are all her offsprings, so i would assume Frontier would highlight a character so special in the Greek mythology.

Besides, the word "maybe" was a very important one in that sentence.
The reason I'm working with is that people don't like having to micromanage tortoises (even with the update they made). Sometimes you want just a small breeding group and then end up with a small city's worth of them. Contraceptives are only a bandage fix for many players.
I'm gonna be very honest, you are the second person that i seen complains about tortoise breeding to much and you by some reason the only one that don't want to use contraceptives as a counter measure.

Also, this honestly feels like one of the weakest reason i've seen people advocating for WE animals in the whole forum, so...
And to be honest, I don't really want spurred tortoises in the walkthrough exhibit either I'm just thinking like Frontier and thinking how to get our dictionary words while also staying within the established formatting of Animal Packs.
How exactly are you thinking like Frontier when you suggest something that was never bring up by anyone, while simply inventing a new format that frontier never used?

Moreover, there's no evidence that Frontier ever thought about puting giant tortoises on WE, and in fact, there's the evidence of the opposite, as the tropical pack journal suggest that Frontier process for the WE is trying habitat first, and if a animal cannot work in any way, then is moved to WE.

But again, ecidna is the only one. There's zero mention of minotaurs, sphynxes, or cerberus anywhere in the dictionary. What specifically how echidna is so important that it warrants being in a dictionary more-so than related created with more frequent mention in average conversation? (or even just public awareness)

Contraceptives only do so much. There's no way to have mama tortoise to have just 2 or so babies at a time, you get the full package every pregnancy.
And I personally don't have that much issue with them because I only play on sandbox. I'm just repeating complaints other people have said over the years (both on the forums and on the subreddit).

Its shared between PZ and PC2, and there is a medusa animatronic in PC2, and echidna is also often portrait as a half snake woman with snake hair. So i can see it refering to that, there are also no other animatronics of other greek monsters to my knowledge so that checks out atleast.

The weird thing there is that Medusa isn't in the dictionary either. Not even gorgon. It's also worth mentioning that "echidna" didn't even appear in the dictionary until late April of this year. Why wait almost 8 years before adding a word related to a Planet Coaster animatronic?

Well, the Sonic movies are popular...😂

The answer was on my comment:

Are you sure buddy? The zoopedia literally state that both tortoises have a minimal of 2 babys for clutch, and while yes the maximal ammount of 7 and 8 might be a overkill, this can be avoided by having parent with low reproduction gene (reproduction gene is the one that affect the animals the last btw, if you want to reproduce high states on animals, you only need to worry about size and longivity) or simply acepting that 5 baby tortoise isn't bad at all.

I think players should have the option to donate babies and/or sell them for money on the market. For one, some animals don't like offspring in their habitats because the offspring is supposed to be self-sufficient, right?
So we should have the option to buy/sell offspring with other zoos. Bonus points if you could trade with some zoos directly instead of the big market

Betting for optimal genes is not a good solution, players shouldn't depend on random chance to get what they want. And an average of 5 still means your tortoise population has now more than tripled from your first pair. That's taking a huge toll on the space, food availability, shelter area, and enrichment available to your new tortoises. And even with the update, they're still super slow so your notifications are gonna be going crazy even when the situation on food and water technically resolves itself.

Anything that crosses the uncanny valley goes into the garbage bin for me.

How does this do for uncanny? :p

You realize we are talking about tortoises and their babys, right? And the "huge toll in space" is 20 m² for the biggest clutch possible, while the others add up in like 10%.

And if big clutch should be a factor for WE animals, we surelly should move all the reptiles, birds and carnivorans to WE as they big clutchs would be a problem.

Uhh... if there was a rainforest theme.. It probably would be Goodfellow's Tree Kangaroo/Sifaka/Coatimundi..

If there was a grasslands theme, Secretary Bird, Dik-Dik and African Spurred Tortoise...

[Just read this again, sounds super salty mb]
