Im pretty sure they went with the capuchin over the squirrel monkey because its way more of a household name.
The capuchin is also double or three times the size of a squirrel monkey which, especially back in the day, was probably a good reason to chose them for PZ

Also i just realized that its kinda funny that people always ask for a larger new world monkey in form of the howler and label the squirrel monkey as a capuchin clone, even tho the capuchin and howler are actually way closer in size.

I've always viewed them as in the large size bracket:

• Big Monkeys (for South America): Howler, Spider, Capuchin, Wooly Monkeys
• Medium: Sakis, Uakari, Titis
• Small Monkeys: Tamarins, Marmosets, Squirrel Monkeys, Night Monkeys

That's a global rating of the reviews where most of the bad reviews are because of the bugs and crashes that are now mostly fixed, you need to go down to the reviews and filter by language to find what they actually say to get your point across.

In fact, throughout the China forums of PZ，Our needs are actually the same as everyone here.
Everyone needs South America species and flying birds and monkeys the most.
On this basis, many representative animals from Chinese zoos are needed, such as snub-nosed monkey，Chinese Alligator，Père David's Deer，Pheasant，Chinese Muntjak and other chinese animals。
This is a common wish of Chinese players

As an American player I would still happily take these animals, while I have never seen a snub nosed monkey in person all I have to do is make a sandbox zoo in china and it would work.

But I have seen peere David’s deer, pheasants, and muntjacs here in the US. So I’ll happily take them.

Back in 2021, I hypothesize that we were getting North America animal pack and BOOM nailed it.

I also called getting the moose, cougar, beaver, sea lion, alligator, and prairie dog (although I did predict the river otter and hellbender instead of the Arctic fox and bullfrog).

Then after Wetlands dropped I said the three most likely animals would be the leopard, the gibbon, and Mike Wazowski's horse. And rit-dit-dit-di-doo.

I also called the Tasmanian Devil and kiwi coming together, and getting the wolverine in Winter of 2023 bub.

Buuuuuuttttt I also thought Tropical was going to be an animal pack, the only chance of getting a black rhino would be an anniversary gift, and that the Spring 2024 DLC would ABSOLUTELY have a South American monkey. I even GUARANTEED it here on the forums, so um, oops...

I don’t think I have ever been right once. It didn’t help that the first year or two of playing I was convinced some mystical bird pack is coming lol

I mean the regional packs were pretty easy to predict after SEA because they all fit with the season. Summer would be Africa, Fall would be NA, and Europe in the winter. 2022 was unpredictable, though I did predict the raccoon. 2023 I predicted a rainforest and desert pack, and the porcupine, but nothing else.

I don't think there was a time that I was every 100% spot on, but I got pretty close with the Australia, North America and Africa packs, maybe only being wrong on one habitat animal of each of those.

Completely off on Barnyard and Grasslands.

I "predicted" basicly the entire ungulate list of arid + the scimitar horned onix in an old post in the ungulate talk thread about all the north african ungulates that would be so neat to have but wed never get. "Lucky" me

To be perfectly honest I'm kind of thinking an Eurasia pack. Basically a disguised Mountain pack with a couple more animals, maybe an antelope or raccoon dog

Earliest we could expect Summer DLC would be around 16th July, and the longest wait would be scheduled for 16th September.

Actually that sounds about right, I feel like the real big question is will we get anything for the anniversary? 5 years is a pretty big deal.

I can’t even stay interested in the game for that long without new content lol and I think frontier knows that if nothing new happens for several months, content creators and the player base in general will get bored, plus it would likely release in the same month as the new game.

I guessed the Eurasia Animal Pack around the summertime the same year. My lineup was pretty accurate too, and included some of the oddballs that NO ONE else saw coming. I predicted a Eurasia Animal Pack with Wolverine, Wild Boar, Wisent and Saiga. The other three I predicted were EBB (not far from Sloth Bear), Muskox (not far from Takin) and Pacific Walrus (aquatic like the Swan). I really wasn’t too far off with that one

Frontier should really start focusing on diverse regions like South America and China has literally 7000+ Species. Also the Chinese player base should at least get a GSNM or a Peres David deer, as those two animals wont only benefit the Chinese player base but will be a fine addition to Asian zoos. Planet zoo of course will probably add these in Planet Zoo 2 though in 2029 or 2030
