Well, i fully agree that the SP aquarium is a exception among exceptions, but it still illustrate my point perfectly: fish's aren't exclusive for aquariums, and terrestrial mega fauna aren't exclusive from zoos, and hence there's no reason to separete planet zoo from a planet aquarium.

I was one of the ones that wanted a separate Planet Aquarium, but seeing as how PlanCo 2 went, I kinda hope aquariums are just added to a theoretical PlanZo 2 (I say theoretical because it's just assumptions). I'd love to have an array of freshwater fish, and I think that a sequel's biggest selling point would be fish and birds over what we currently have

I think the only DLC habitat animals I'd replace with birds at a push would be:
Arctic pack: Dall sheep > Atlantic Puffin
Australia pack: Dingo > Rainbow Lorikeet WE
Barnyard pack: Alpine goat > Wood duck
Eurasia pack: Saiga > Barn owl
SE Asia pack: Dhole > Oriental pied hornbill
Wetlands pack: Nile lechwe > Blue crane
Some irregular choices there I know, just personal preference from birds I've enjoyed seeing in the wild or local zoos.

Well i would get rid of the wolf to add the puffin haha i really like the sheep
DLC branches also automaticaly update whenever the rating of the DLC changes (when for example someone writes negative review and the rating drops), so I would not look too much into this particular branches.
Edit: I just checked, and yes, there were new review for Barnyard pack 3 days ago, so yeah, not update related.

- North America animal pack: as much as I love each and every animal, I will have to replace the beaver with the wild/domestic turkey
- Wetlands animal pack: replace the wild water buffalo with the roseate spoonbill
- Twilight pack: replace the adorable striped skunk with the American woodcock
- Tropical pack: replace the groovy Asian water monitor with the scarlet ibis
- Arid animal pack: replace dama gazelle with helmeted guineafowl
- Eurasia animal pack: replace saiga with capercaillie
- Barnyard animal pack: replace Tamworth pig with domestic duck

Not really, its the reviews written by players. Which anyone can write at any time. When someone writes a review but it does not change the % rating, nothing happens, but when it changes the %, then the branch updates automatically. The reviews are really random.But then you'd expect the rest of the DLC updates in that list to be much less regular and chronological:
