DLC20 Discussion (maybe, but why not?)

The plants in JWE3 are giving me hope that Frontier gets it together for PZ2... much much much better quality than in PC2. I also like the colors better, but am aware that JWE3 is no Planet game, so in the worst case PZ2 could still be as oversaturated as PC2.
I think the saturation is just a planet coaster thing. They want those poppy colors for a theme park game but planet zoo has a more naturalistic vibe

Back on topic, I'm really excited we're getting an India / South Asia themed pack. I kind of didn't think we would, although I've always really wanted one. The honey badger is a huge win, I can't believe we're finally getting such a nasty critter!

What would knock it out of the park for me is the inclusion of a langur and a loris. I'm truly not expecting either, but if they were on the roster it would shoot this pack up into my top 3. I think the lion tailed macaque will be the only primate though - not my top choice but I am really glad to be getting an Indian monkey. Long awaited, much needed and I bet it will look great.

I can't really see any bad picks for this pack. I know I'm in the minority with welcoming another elephant! But honestly any wildlife from South Asia is going to rock and fill out a much neglected area (IMO). We've had all these Indian themed decorations for so long, now we can actually put them to good use. Jungle park of my dreams, here I come.

Every pack has its surprise pick - I can't wait to see what it will be for this round. I hope it's a small mammal. A mongoose would be very cool. The Tibetan fox would be my next guess and would be quite exciting. I have such a soft spot for grumpy-faced animals.

Given recent trends I am sort of expecting a bird? It feels like Frontier realised these were really lacking in the community's eyes and has been trying to make up for it by having one in almost every pack. The monal seems likely but I'm not too hyped about it. I would prefer a pond heron or a cormorant, or something else a bit different.

Feels like exhibits are done with and so no king cobra, which is a shame. I wonder what the scenery pieces will be like. I've been a bit annoyed at the lack of foliage in these new packs, that's my main quibble with the game these days.
Well, I'm one of the few people who wants a Cobra (Altough I want it as Habitat Animal instead of Exhibit, even then, I know it's a lot to ask

I know people have largely decided the small animal is a baby macaque, but I think it might be a loris?

In which case, I think it's gonna be the Bengal slow loris as it's the biggest one, might be wrong though

what could be a "Boring Monkey"?
Rhesus macaque imo for example. Not even boring in a negative sense, but pretty much every one of our old world monkeys, including the lion tailes, has something funky about them: crazy manes, funy butts, flashy colors or weird biomes. Would be cool to have one really vanilla monkey, and rhesus macaque would fit that very well. But hanuman langur could work aswell

That's true. At least to me. The Simpler monkeys, apart of Rhesus Macaque, is the Barbary Macaque (apart of being the only European Monkey)

I use "boring" not in a negative sense, but to mean species without extravagant coloring or display features like proboscis, lion-tailed, mandrill, hamadryas and saki monkeys. While I do like these animals, some plainer species are needed in my opinion to make the special ones stand out.

Examples include rhesus macaques or hanuman langurs from Asia, vervet monkeys from Africa and capuchin monkeys from SA.

My personal favourite is the long tailed macaque

Yeah, that's what I mean, I prefer the King Cobra (or even other snakes like Green Anconda) as Habitat Animals
A habitat snake has always been among my top wanted species, and I think Cobras are probably the best choice for this based on their behavior and not being as long as the other candidates (Green Anaconda, Reticulated Python)

Snap, all this monkey talk. We could use a more standard monkey for Africa. Mandrills and baboons don't cut it, because yes they're monkeys, but not "monkeys."

Here's a crackerjack idea:
  1. Black-and-white colobus monkey (I believe there's a red colobus, too. I'd personally prefer it for distinct looks)
  2. Any 1 of the grey langurs
  3. Squirrel monkey
  4. Howler monkey

Not the best selection, but at least brings the primates up a lot

I think we need these monkeys to have a more diverse and “complete” primate roster I think we need the following:
• Francois Langur (could be another langur species, but this is one preferred)
• Colobus species, preferably Angolan or Mantled Guereza
• Another African monkey (Guenon or “Savannah” monkey)
• NWM #1(Tamarin, Marmoset, Howler, Spider, Titi, or Squirrel Monkey
• NWM # 2 (same as 1)

In those lines, my wishlist would be:

Francois Langur
Mantled Guereza
DeBrazza's Guenon
Geoffroy's Spider Monkey
Bolivian Squirrel Monkey
