I just can't wrap my head around the thought process behind the elephant. People who want a diverse species selection aren't going to be happy. Casual players who might barely care about the difference between our two existing elephant species aren't going to be happy. People who want common zoo animals aren't going to be happy - look at this!

The Asiatic lion would have been a better pick by just about every metric, and I don't even actually want that one either! This is the most genuinely baffling roster decision they've made in years. At least with the arguably similar African leopard, there was an appreciable level of demand and I could understand the appeal even if it didn't work for me. This elephant is just for basically no one.

There were definitely some equally easy clones out there (to name a few: lion, tiger, another crane, jackal, domestic buffalo...) so why the elephant specifically??

Appeal. Every player probably knows and loves elephants.

Lol, I just did the same and went to Zootierliste.
Honestly, that elephant...

And to be quite honest, the Davids Dear is not the best choice for me as well. At this point this DLC needs to have the racoon dog or really steallar building pieces to buy it at release and not in a sale.

So I've been away moshing and crowd surfing this weekend and now we have a leak. I'm glad I mentally prepared myself for the elephant, it sucks but whatever at least we know it's coming.

Another deer is really exciting though, very happy about that.
