DLC20 Discussion (maybe, but why not?)

Have we ever had a River Pack ? With that big winding river I was wondering if this was a river specific pack.
We know the honey badger is in it, and the closer silhouettes look like primates of some sort, but what I am thinking people are seeing as elephants I was seeing as buildings. But it is blurry so either is possible I guess.
You need to look at a crisper image. In a properly pixelated version of the image, you're not only able to see the elephants clearly, but even see them clearly enough to realize that they're the Asian elephant species and not an African elephant species (because they look different).

Unless is a South Asia Pack and not an India pack...
Imagine the confusion. "I'm going to buy the South Asia Animal Pack". "You mean the Southeast Asia Animal Pack?" "No they released a new one, just called South not Southeast." "Why wouldn't they call it something different? That's so confusing!" "Unfortunately, they really really needed to include a clone elephant and a clone peafowl, so this was the only way."

I just want to say that if we're looking at South Asia or just Asia theme, as opposed to India, that my number one pick would be Sumatran Rhinoceros, however contradictory it might seem compared to my rant against third elephant
If that ends up happening, I'd gladly throw myself off a cliff :)
The black rhino was already bad enough, we don't need a fourth identical rhino

Help me come up with a name
I had thought by first look at Americas that it would be called New World animal pack, although looking at the theme I was lead to believe it would be called Central American animal pack.
As the hinted animals seem to both be from India, this is leading to an India dlc.
Unless they are gonna throw some northern Asian animals like the tanuki therefore giving it the name Asia animal pack.

If we get an India Pack and it doesn't feature the blackbuck I will RIOT
Same.
To me, the blackbuck matters even more than the coati.
I can see some arguments for not adding the coati - the difficulty of implementing new animations, for example - but the Blackbuck? It can't be that different from the Nile Lechwe we already have.
Plus, we don't have any antelopes or deer from Asia other than the Saiga (and no, I'm not counting red deer, reindeer and moose, even though they're technically found in Asia), so the Blackbuck is a must

Haha, I can definitely see why it would be unpopular.

In my defense I think it visually stands out compared to other Rhinos, and it's also not related to any living species.

But the bigger reason is that they are (almost certainly) going extinct, and I see their inclusion like a little virtual monument that we lived alongside them once. Like when you read a really old encyclopedia and see Thylacines listed amongst living fauna.

I feel like having animals that are fun to build for in game is more important that having the same animal we already have 3 times but with a slightly different geographical range and possibly colour.
Lots of animals are going extinct, some of which would make great candidates for the game; the Asiatic Lion, for example, is another "clone" also from South Asia that would add something we don't have (a good lion model). Meanwhile the Sumatran rhino is the same as an african or Indian rhino but found in Borneo instead of Africa/india

Very excited to see that the honey badger and especially the lion-tailed macaque are on the way in the near-future. Hopefully the Asian elephants are just there for vibes.

If it is an Indian or South Asian pack, it could go one of two ways - it could be absolutely amazing or it could be very dull. Quite a few of my most-wanted animals (yellow-throated marten, bar-headed goose and Indian star tortoise for starters) would fit very nicely in such a pack. Keeping all my fingers and toes crossed for at least one of them to be included.

They all look the same.
Like, I can't see any difference at all.
Rhinos are all just that similar
I guess we can agree to disagree on visual distinctions. Some Rhinos do look similar, but for me Sumatran stands out in many factors like size, color, horns and fur (and "lineage")

We can agree there, Asian Lion wouldn't be a bad choice for me.

So, first of all I'd just like to say how grateful I am that we're getting another DLC so soon, especially after the longer than usual wait time with the last few. The Honey Badger is a very welcome addition, and I'm pleased with the Lion-Tailed Macaque, I'm always happy to get more primates. But those elephants had better be on the cover art for the sake of it. We do not need a third elephant. Period. There is simply not enough variation between the subspecies to justify it. A third elephant like the African Forest Elephant or Sri Lankan Elephant would undeniably be the worst animal addition to the game since the Arctic Wolf.
