DLC20 Discussion (maybe, but why not?)

I'm expecting something like "Around the World" or "Arboreal" to get my beloved coati

Around the world animal pack (cringy name but necessary to get animals from different biomes and avoid call this pack Zookeeper's Collection 2)
1. Secretary Bird
2. Honey Badger
3. SA Coati
4. Black Howler
5. Musk ox
6. Black Buck
7. G. Tree kangaroo

Arboreal anima pack (Note: Coatis arent't arboreal everytime, but PZ put the Black Rhino (which usually lives in savannahs) in Arid Animal Pack for example, so it seems viable)
1. G. Tree kangaroo
2. Black Howler
3. Squirell Monkey
4. SA Coati
5. Indian Giant Squirell
6. Virginia Opossum
7. Panther Chameleon (e)

I think the walrus is kinda deceptively hard to make. Like sea lion would be a nice base but you would for sure need to edit most animations to accurately convey the heft of a walrus otherwise its not gonna look right. Kinda like the duck mods base on the swan, tiny ducks lumbering around with the weight of a swan just looks off.
Also diving should be change, sea lions primarily use their forelimps for locomotion, whereas true seals mostly use their hindlimps and the walrus uses a mixture of both.

Yeah guys kiss good bye secretary, walrus, tree roo, spider monkey, etc. Not gonna happen for this versión of the game.

We're saying that as if the saki isn't an example of the amount of animation edits required to do a secretary bird, walrus or a tree kangaroo needs lol.

The spider monkey is the obvious exception; but like, people seriously overestimate the amount of work that is required and underestimate the amount of work that Frontier does in terms of animation editing.

(so no secretary bird, tree kangaroo, echidna, pelicans, spider monkeys, tamarins, patagonian mara, burrowing owl, roadrunner, spoonbill, ibis, gerenuk, musk ox, etc).
A lot of these feel possible though? Maybe not all at once obviously but I can see a pelican, mara, tamarin (uses the same rig as the saki), musk ox, echidna and even the gerenuk as possible.
And would you guys prefer for them to keep puting out DLCs, even if we are just going to get animal packs full of clones just with improved visuals?
I'd personally be fine with it. There are a lot of packs I think can work with more clones. I honestly don't want a Planet Zoo 2 in general seeing as I've paid at least $200+ on this game and the packs. I know its very unrealistic but I would much rather prefer a huge "new game" style expansion to the first game that would cost the same as the base game and adds major features like birds, fish, etc. rather than a whole new game. We've built such a diverse roster I don't want to start back at 100, and I don't think a lot of others would either.

The term clone is really overused these days, I hate it. Anyways, I agree that alot of the listed animals are quite possible. For example Patagonian Mara could easily use the capybara rig with maybe some added animations. There are not that many animals that would actually need a whole new rig at this point (excluding aquatics and flying birds of course).

Yeah same feeling, but at the same time i will need to get some more interesting things eventually to keep me engage for longer.

Idk if I'm crazy but i feel like the dik dik rig Will work well for the mara (with modifications of course haha). But like, for mods.

I honestly don't care what the next DLC is, I just want a substantial free update. Update 1.19 was an abject disappointment on every level. It barely even qualifies as an update, we got a very meager portion of new content in it.

I agree the saki has whats seems to be a fully new tail so has at least some significant edits and people are just ignoring the fact that we got out first new deep diving animal since oceania and its a new rig or the fact that we got the ocelot something that was probably as difficult to make as a coati.

There was definitely less effort than previous packs but saying that this means we wont see a walrus or any other medium difficulty animals is a leap sure we might not see something radically different like sea turtles, climbing lizards or porcupines but an ibis or coati arent out of the question,

I get it tho, we are just looking for reasons why some of our favorite animals aren't making the DLC's and we simply don't know the reason for certain animals missing, so we are gonna fill in the blanks.

I feel like they have 2 choices, end with a only top like 7 animals on the wishlist or continue and add a new biome themed pack which would probably be Coastal or Temperate.

Maybe I’m too optimistic, but a part of me is taking what they said in the unlocked post zookeeper to mean maybe we’ll get a full year of dlc (4 pack) I’m referring to when they said theres a LOT coming. Of course this is most likely marketing speech but man would it make me happy
