DLC20 Discussion (maybe, but why not?)

Brb gonna end my suffering before we get the rhino
Could still point to Sumatran Tiger. And I know this is a hot take, but I would take another tiger over another elephant. Mainly because the tiger models we have are (like almost all cat models) pretty much outdated, but the elephants still hold up well in my opinion.

And it could be a Sumatra Orang Utan. Similar situation. A model update would not hurt. And I know it's still paying for what we already have, but we at least only paid a little bit for Tiger and Orang Utan, while we paid three times for the Rhino, figureatively speaking.
Or it could be the Sumatran elephant. And from a non-asia standpoint, that is indeed a night mare as well, but one that we are facing with basically any elephant left.

This is a good opportunity for me to bring up a hypothetical. Between these 2 sole options, which would y'all prefer?
Option A:
  • Honey Badger
  • Lion-Tailed Macaque
  • Sri Lankan Elephant
  • Blackbuck
  • Nilgai
  • Fishing Cat
  • Mugger Crocodile
  • No more than 60 new building pieces
  • No update that makes the existing Indian theme flexicolour
Option B:
  • Honey Badger
  • Lion-Tailed Macaque
  • Sri Lankan Elephant
  • Asiatic Lion
  • Indian Leopard
  • Himalayan Black Bear
  • Indian Wolf
  • 5 Exhibit Animals of your choosing
  • Update that makes the existing Indian theme flexicolour
You are evil.

NOBODY asked for a third Elephant, so if they add that it's extreme strange and silly

I will riot if we get another Tiger or Lion, ugh ugh, just fix the Tiger and Lion models already in game instead of wasting precious spots on doubles, EXTREME clones and easy money-creatures

B. I need the Indian Building Pieces flexicolor for ages now and I would love a lion that does not look like Disney. Just think it's unlikely they put two cat clones in one pack, but hey.

Also, they did imrpove their games with bears, so... yeah, would prefer an american black bear and an european brown bear, but a better black bear model is better than one bad black bear model.

I don't care at all about exhibit animals (because building for them with the current system is a pain), but I'd rather see other people happy with them then survive another building piece night mare like the one with the Americas pack. And I doubt the feedback about those questionable pieces reached Frontier.

If this is because of Sumatra being in the dictionary, there are a bunch of place names in the dictionary. Sahara, Siberia, Sierra, Tasmania, Tibet, Afghanistan, Alps, Arabia,... are but a few examples.

They don't seem to have a word for every specific country or location in the world; but I'd say it's a fair assumption that Sumatra has probably been in for quite a while and probably isn't a "leak" regarding this pack.

I agree that it is not neccessarily a leak for the pack, this was just discussion an "if" scenario. And most of your examples could actually point to animals in PZ still.

Look I'm sorry, but no it isn't. We disagree with each other all the time here. We all have things we dislike about the game and we're all vocal about them too. Everyone is allowed to voice their opinion and people do it here all the time. Especially when they're negative opinions, this thread and several other threads are full of those. By others, and by me.

But what you're doing is not just "disliking this one clone" anymore. You've been overly negative about every pack since Zookeepers, going on and on posting negative and frankly borderline irrationally negative feedback over and over again to almost everything. At that point you have to realize you're no longer a person who gives their opinion; instead you just became a buzzkill in a group of people who still enjoy this game. It becomes annoying and people don't like that. This isn't a new thing or something exclusive to this community; that's how it is everywhere in life.

If you're going to a sports bar and all you do there is complain about sports, people will kindly show you the door. You're not a victim in that situation, you deliberately put yourself there. If you're old enough to be here on the forums then you're old enough to take responsibility for your own actions and you're supposed to be able to say "hey, maybe this just isn't my thing anymore if I keep feeling so negative about this". That's something that is expected from you, not just here, but in the rest of your life. Have some agency over yourself please.

And no you shouldn't be a mindless consumer and frankly you should be vocal about your feedback because that's the only way to change things. We do that as a community and we've done it over and over again with good results. Other people have been able to do it in a constructive fashion, even when their criticism was fairly negative. That's different than being negative almost all of the time, especially over things that we don't even know are a thing yet.

Again, I'm sorry, I know I'm harsh here but man I hope you take this to heart and do some introspection here. Because the way you're going is just going to keep annoying people more and more to a point where nobody is going to want to spend time interacting with you. And that will be on you, it won't be on the community.
You aren’t being harsh at all. You summed it up perfectly, and you’re 100% correct.

Ah alright, yeah I read somewhere in the freakin 30 pages we amassed already that people thought that Sumatra was a leak like before 😂 I know that they're there for PZ related purposes though, that seems kind of a given.

Did a quick check using the Wayback Machine, Sumatra seems to be added either at the end of 2023 or the beginning of 2024 (we don't have a version past October 2023 for 2023). Before that, it wasn't in. Make of that what you will community 😅

I don't know whos question it was, but there are shared exhibits of Lion-tailed Macaques, e.g. in Allwetterzoo Münster, Germany, where they share an exhibit with Orang-Utans and Small-clawed otters
This is one of my local zoos, but the macaques definitely arent there anymore. Cant remember seeing the otters there the last times i went, but according to zootierliste they are still there. I know they are currently in the middle of renovation alot of the zoo and had plans for something called "asian island worlds", so maybe they are held behind the scenes for the time being until they got a new enclosure.

Zoo Duisburg also had lion tailed macaque in with their gorillas (for some reason) for a while, although i think they also moved out

Im pretty sure someone mentioned that some of those mystery dictionary words could also refer to zoopedias. IIRC mammoth is in there and that one pops up in the indian elephants fun facts, impala also was in the zoopedia for cheetahs, wild dogs or something.

So the sumatra could also refer to that, end 2023/early 2024 is right around when eurasia came out, so maybe from the wild boar? Those range all the way down to sumatra. Otherwise a late addition from the water monitor maybe

Did you buy the Arctic Pack?
Yes, because the Dall Sheep, Reindeer and Polar Bear were all new animals at the time (and I wouldn't really call the polar bear a "clone" because it's quite iconic and distinct). The Arctic Wolf grew on me over time and became one of my favourite parts of the pack.
Only one animal is a true clone, and it still manages to look different from the normal wolf

Sumatran tiger would be pretty good, but if we get both that AND the lion, then I'd be a bit less excited.
The orangutan is something I would personally not care about in the slightest, but I wouldn't hate it as much as the rhino.
Elephant is alright I guess
