Do you really need the headshot damage modification?

The question needs to be asked and answered, as probably the majority of CMDRs are having a really tough time finding the settlement defence plans to unlock Wellington Beck

If the answer is no, then a CMDR can save themselves a great deal of time and effort and get on with enjoying the game. All of the other engineer unlocking materials are easier to come by, relatively speaking. This include Opinion Polls.

All of the modifications Wellington provides are also provided by Domino Green and Oden Geiger.
Apart from headshot damage, all of the modifications provided by Uma Laslo are also provided by Jude Navarro or Kit Fowler.

If the answer is yes, you really do need headshot damage on a weapon, then this can be achieved in one of three ways:
Grind for the SDPs (likely to take a really long time)
Buy a pre engineered weapon (only if you feel lucky, well do ya?)
Unlock the 4 Odyssey engineers in Colonia (the easiest and guaranteed way)

Of course, as part of some future patch, things may change.

I got kicked out of Noobia regarding FPS games. I'm that bad playing it. I.o.w. I'm already thrilled if I manage to hit a red in the first place. Headshot damage is not on my grind list. I rather go for stability and hip accuracy. Though TBH IDK what the exact difference between those upgrades are...

Yep gave up on Wellybob and Uma, currently half way to Colonia in the love boat Beluga with everything i need to unlock the folks up there.
Headshot is defo not needed when a G5 weapon is a one shot body kill, may get it on one weapon just to spite Wellington though.

Once we get the FSDs from the CG, there will be carriers going back to the bubble, my alts included. Hitch a lift back if you are done.

Appreciate the offer but i may head back via Vulcan Gate, found some interesting stuff a while back and whilst im not towing the carrier it seems an ideal time :)

I have it on both my Karma L-6s.
Didn't bother with it on any other weapons.
Will wait for it to be added as experimental on the torpedo pylon, however.

So... grind for mats for an upgrade you neither want nor need just to provide yourself the empty emotional satisfaction of hurting the non-existent feelings of an imaginary character in a video game.

I like it. I'm heading to Colonia to unlock those engineers in the next few weeks. I might do the same thing. LOL

It really depends on your playstyle, skill level and intended purpose. If you're relatively confident with your aim, have a slot to spare, want to buff your DPS and/or have the intention to PVP, then yes. Otherwise, no, there are probably better mods to supplement your damage output in PVE.

why would you want call of duty of a spacegame. i think FDev have gone to spain and take way to much sun on the head to think planet walking and jumping shooting (or bunnyhopping in cod it was called).to do even more grindy rubbish for a better chances of living a few more secs until Npc Spam the Grenades at you.only think i used edo for is exploring the planet bio's and that because i'm in a srv or scorpion tank and not think i'm a bunny wrabbit.

I might be building some headshot kinetics with silencing mods for my stealth channel, just as a project to do for missions and other things for content. I already unlocked everything though.

Headshot damage on a P-15 lets you cap unsuspecting fools with a single bullet. And as much as I like my plasma, with the kinetic there's no danger of the target casually walking away a week before the round gets there.
Yup, that's what I plan to do with my double silenced P-15 too.

There is no need for any mod. If you think you might find it worth a slot you put it in.

Yep, my sniping P15 is the only weapon that has it.

Who the hell need headshots when we get that great shotgun, with improved hip acc. and long range, stowed reload and audio masking ? At G5 that beast can take down a shielded NPC in just one shot ! If you like add extra ammo, and you will pop NPC right and left just aiming in the general direction !
I do not have, myself, in any weapon, the headshot... are many things a lot more practical !
