Does anyone with access to a cutter use a Type 9?

Just thinking that the Type-9 and cutter overlap somewhat as being joint kings of cargo capacity, within a handful of tonnes capacity of each other, and both ships have woefully weak spots, but their weaknesses are different from each other. For example, the cutter is fast, like silly fast given its turning rates, but it has the turning circle of a coriolis starport, but is much better in supercruise than a Type-9. However the Type-9 for all its lethargy, is actually a pretty faithful stead and goes (slowly, very very slowly) where you point it. Similarly the cutter has a canopy / windscreen that is akin to a letter box, whereas the Type-9 has the whole Lakon greenhouse canopy offering much better visibility than the cutter. But the cutters cockpit is more opulently appointed whereas the Type-9 is very much a girders and deck plates industrial affair. And so on and so forth, so I was wondering did anyone prefer the Lakon offering over the Gutamaya offering?

I have 3 Cutters and 2 T9s. For trading, I take the Cutter when I want to trade + bask and have a chance of blowing up NPCs in a ship that's invincible.....apart from the 2 times I've accidentally boosted into the back of a station.

I take the T9 when I really want to feel like a space trucker with around 30 extra tons of cargo, in a ship which isn't invincible with the whiff of 'danger'.

I have a lot of T-9s.
Only one Cutter.
I just really prefer flying the T-9.

I have two of each, one shielded (open viable) and one maxed out for cargo of each.

The unshielded Cutter gets more use out of the four because it carries more but for multi-runs I usually switch to the corresponding T-9 after the first couple of runs because it's just nicer to fly :)

I generally haul in a Python or Cobra MkIII though.

A question of looks and style for me. I've never had a mining Cutter and likely never will - it doesn't feel right. Type-9, on the other hand, looks and feels like a mining ship. I may not extract minerals as fast mining in a Type-9 but I'm going to have a lot of fun doing it. As I have.

As for trading and mission running, it depends on the commodity type. Expensive metals and other relevant items I would normally trade in a Cutter, while say salvage and machinery go in a Type-9. Sometimes, I break that rule. Cutter is certainly a better moneymaker, but I'm long past such peasantly concerns.

A couple of other points about the T9:

It may be an absolute cow in supercruise, but it boost turns amazingly well in real space. Even fully loaded, far more nimble than a Cutter (and so slow you're unlikely to overshoot your pad even if you fall asleep at the stick).

Also, the T9 cockpit - more of a bridge really - is just stunning in VR.

Yes - cutter is well-defended with 512t cargo space. T9 is stripped down with 784t space. Depending on the risk and the distance, I'll pick the most effective ship that wont get blown up. Cutter is not superior just because it has moar module space hurdur

another one here - t9 best cockpit ingame! t9 for just hauling, especially as a Fc support ship! t9 looks amazing!
cutter - great sound, total safety by speed, better for travelling somewhere to trade there etc.

I like more the Cutter in supercruise, but i kinda like more the T9 in normal space.
But i do use only the Cutter to haul things simply because i fly shieldless (for efficiency reasons) and if i lose an interdiction in T9 that's a lost ship.
A cutter has no trouble leaving the enemies choking in his exhaust gases...

I have access to all ships, said that I use a T9 for my Power Play cargo hauling once at Level 3 pledge,it's a barbones one, can't even boost, but it does its job, one/two jumps with 750t of stuff.

I have both and generally prefer how the T9 handles in and out of port. Everytime i try to lift off with the cutter i have to do a double take and check thst my joystick is actually working. T9 has vertical thrusters that work. If im taking source and return missions that spawn tons of anaconda pursuers i use the cutter and kill them all. For general cargo missions T9 is the preferred beast. Of course i tanked mine up so its pretty durable in its own right.

Shieldless Cutter for traditional "I'm paying attention" haulage.
T9 for brainless loading of the cutter (Shields, DC & SCA).
