Yes, and all PC players are cheaters because they get to use a keyboard and mouse, something we can't do on PS4.
But console players get unlimited alts though?

Jesus - easy on the detail![REDACTED]
Then the only fair course of action should be to make ED console only, then the "master race" won't cheat, or moan about cheating. Plus they would release Oddessey sooner on xbox and ps.
Others, like myself?Because it's a carrier going to Colonia, that would make botting okay? What about others who wanted to profit at Colonia but didn't want to risk running automation scripts and getting banned by fdev? It's hard for other traders to compete with bots. You wanted proof of botting, well I gave it to you. Your logic doesn't hold up either, If FCs were just more user friendly, people wouldn't have to resort to botting...
Ahh making a cuppa while flying to hutton, 3307's best loved pass time. Personally I recon it should be SUPER BREW ASSISTOr just design gameloops that can't be botted easily- which would mean more involving gameplay and drift away from Netflix while you make tea flying to Hutton.
People still fly to Hutton?Ahh making a cuppa while flying to hutton, 3307's best loved pass time. Personally I recon it should be SUPER BREW ASSIST
Whether or not you legitimize automation scripts in game, (because it's you know, Colonia and those guys do no wrong), it's against the terms of service. Here is fdev's own wording on the matter, "Others, like myself? As I moved my FC to Colonia without said macro, but I was darn tempted to install it - because even though I decided to take the scenic route (again), it was a complete and utter chore to move it because I had to be within the vicinity to refuel it (my alt is not yet ready to take on this role) and manually plotting dozens of jumps individually isn't the most riveting gameplay ever conceived, either.
The FC macro afaik is widely known and posts on this very forum not being moderated suggest that FD is ok with it existing i.e. not cheating. It's a QoL feature sorely missing from the game, which is all I'm saying. Working the BGS by running dedicated CMDR accounts fully automated really isn't the same thing.
So why are Frontier not doing anything about the threads or indeed banning CMDRs that are using the macro if it's so illegal?Whether or not you legitimize automation scripts in game, (because it's you know, Colonia and those guys do no wrong), it's against the terms of service. CHEATING
We do not tolerate cheating of any kind in our online multiplayer games. This includes, but is not limited to, the use of automated scripts, programs or services offered outside of the game to generate a player advantage
"
I don't think I'm the only person upset that automation scripts get used and are so widely accepted by the player base because, it is Colonia. But if it's BGS, OH NOOOO!!! But if it's a carrier selling at Colonia, OH THATS OKAY.
Like I said, that thread rubbed me the wrong way a long time ago, because I'm a trader out to make money, and that's why I remembered it and decided to post it here, and it's because I wanted to make money in Colonia, but when I saw BOTS going to Colonia to sell, well I can't compete with that and I play within the rules.
Fdev will not publish any info on those they ban for cheating in case it upsets the cheater
If you want the answer to that, read the title of this thread. So why are Frontier not doing anything about the threads or indeed banning CMDRs that are using the macro if it's so illegal?
I'll let that underhanded swing against Colonia slide no idea what you're referring to.

They do seem to at least shadow ban offenders though from what I read from the post Rubbernuke shared earlier, so that's clearly not the case.If you want the answer to that, read the title of this thread.

Humans cannot compete with bots! It's one thing to work getting to Colonia to sell tritium, but it's quite another for someone to just run a script to do the same thing. It's unfair to the traders who don't automate. I don't get why people can legitimate bots for selling tritium (which hurts legitimate traders), but it is wrong if someone using bots for the BGS or power play.(emphasis mine)
This indicates to me that Frontier are concerned with bots that give the users a PvP advantage. Out-hauling humans in PowerPlay or BGS contests, for instance.
Some people have also mentioned using Voice Attack macros for pip-management. That sounds like a more dubious activity to me, because it can give the user an actual combat advantage.
But there is no clear "player advantage" in a Carrier auto-jump script. People in Colonia will buy your tritium, however you get it there (and however long it takes). Do unemployed people, or those who work from home and can run ED in the background, have a similar advantage because they can move their Carriers once every 20 minutes? What about console users, with their free alts, who can stash dozens of tritium-loaded T9's on one Carrier? Quite a can of worms there.
