Double Elite in a Sidewinder

Technically... OP could quadruple Elite in a Sidewinder. It's available in CQC.

Now THAT is diving-for-cover worthy!

I'd be tempted to mod to hell and back and go shieldless.

Shield are almost pointless on a Sidewinder when you can push more than 800 hull without engineering and ~1300, +40% resists, with room for an MRP with engineering.

Even for a trade ship, the smallest HRP is worth three or four shield collapses of damage. Even just bulkheads are sufficient protection.

The ultimate grind (nearly). After 238 hrs of play-time, I got my double Elite. The Explorer one was fairly easy at 41.5 hours, but I had to blow up approximately 8000 ships to get my combat Elite - nearly all done in a high RES. I was blown up three times: Once when I shot a Gunship and forgot about its fighter, which got me from behind before I had a chance to fight back; once by the feds when I made a mistake just as the bad guy blew up, so about 12 of them of which 6 were Anacondas, turned on me; and once by a Cobra with rail guns after I suffered a ram and scan from another ship, which took down my shields and 40% of my hull in the middle of the fight.

I earned 413 million in bounties doing the combat, so that's an average of just over 2 million an hour, though I was playing for kills rather than credits.

Now I'm thinking about how to get the trading Elite with only 5T cargo capacity.

OMG. That's....you are...OMG !

you crazy!!! ...but I think you already knew that. :)

Can't you get more capacity? I would think you could have 8T.
Anyway, what about rares trading. Wouldn't that would give you the most bang for the buck? Though with the distances you'd have to go maybe not. Not sure there is a good way :(
Yes, You're right. It's 10 tons not 5. That makes it half as difficult then.

Perfect, Peter!

Right on, Commander!

+Rep to you.

10T cargo capacity trading... Could you make good credits on rares? My knowledge of rinsing the most out of the game is limited, so other players will have some better suggestions, maybe.

Can't wait to see your thread "Triple Elite in a Sidewinder"!

Salute to you, CMDR!

That would normally be true, but the constant ramming by ships trying to scan you can be resisted by 4 pips on your shields. Without shields, you'd be frequently going back to the station for repairs. here's a vid I made to help you understand:

I'm not sure if it's PC to congratulate someone for being certifiably insane, but hey, I'm not PC, so, congratulations!

Well, since we've already determined that you're crazy, what about grinding 4 weeks of powerplay so you can get prismatic shields. :D

Meta Alloys sell for around 100k per. 10,000T, 2000 trips, 10-20min per trip, 3333hrs minimum.

Would Bring the Thargoid Materials from the Crashed Scout in HIP 17xxxx and selling them at the Black Market at the Oracle be the quickest way?
SRV plus Fuel scoop plus 2 CRCRs so 4 tons a time 2 million credits a trip?

Otherwise Elite Passenger Transport Missions when you see them than will go in Econ 2 passenger cabins

That's a very good suggestion. I have a Cutter in my other account. I didn't know that trade profits were shared - though it would be sort of cheating.

Congrats on the achievement. On the trade side, how about the Palin missions from Obsidian Orbital? They can pay up to 20mill and need thargoid components from the crashed scout ship (HIP 17125). I was ranking up my trade level and going up between 4 and 8% at Entrepreneur level (depending on the mission payout). Just tried setting up a sidey to try it and man that's going to be tricky without some serious engineering/module management. Only downside is you'll need two anti-corrosive cargo racks to make the best profit. On the upside you'll rank really quickly.

Sterling effort in the game's finest ship. :)

You could run the Ram Tah mission for significant gains on trade rank, you'll just need to grab some of the artifacts at each site due to cargo space but other than that you're looking at around 14% of Tycoon to Elite per mission completion.

Don't trade, go and do the guardian mission over and over for the 111 million - handing it in completely goes toward you trade rank - easy peasy!

Don't passenger missions go towards trading rank? Also, is that rank based on tonnage or credits made on what you sell? If you sold rares (which I believe are limited in quality anyway), would that help?

I wish you the best of luck! Let us know when you crack that last Elite :D
