You could jump to it using Galactic Hyperspace, but you couldn't jump to any nearby systems as they were beyond the 7 light year limit, and you couldn't buy another Galactic Hyperspace drive due to the low tech level.

And that concludes the first round. Not bad, Commanders, not bad. :)

I thought that depended on the version. I don't think the BBC Micro version landed you at Oresrati - it had fixed entry points for each galaxy I think?

Sounds like it might be true. I believe the Speccie version dropped you in at the nearest point to your current co-ordinates.

Two wandering hitch-hikers passing through the Imperial mining colony of Moore Starport on the planet Solo's Rock (Urtize) in the Imperial sector (3,-4) en route to the Federal Democracy of Finn (Edethex) have been arrested by an over-zealous detachment of the local Imperial Guard and are being detained on the usual spurious spying charges.

The two Federal spies detained on Solo's Rock in the Urtize system (3,-4) have both committed suicide whilst under the care of the Urtizian Imperial Guard. The Guard Commander has issued a statement of regret that the two could not be brought to full trial coupled with a warning to any others who consider the state-of-the-art ore extraction technology on Urtize to be an easy touch for industrial espionage.

Miners reported two low-flying ships attempting to make landing in the area during the quiet period of the shift and it is believed that a rescue attempt was under way similar to that thwarted by the diligence of the Imperial Naval Internal Protectorate last year. All miners and their householders are reminded of their duty to maintain constant watchfulness and to report any unusual aerial sightings to their local Guard Commander.

Off topic a bit, but..
The speccy version had a cheat that I found by accident when trying to escape police vipers once. Trying to suicide by flying into a station and having the hyperspace countdown running, and seeing what came first, death or hyperspace, I found that if you timed it so your hyperspace countdown ended just as you were entering a Coriolis entrance, you would magically appear docked at your destination system.

Saved all that tedious mucking about having to actually fly anywhere :D

I dont think they are connected
As in the stealing if the art is done by the player, the hitch hikers a different mission

I might be confused the thread moved so quick lol

Because it was a 2-part mission, you took two hitchhikers there and they ask you to come pick them up. If you go back at the requested date, they tell you to leave quick. You then read in the newspaper, the statue got stolen.
