DS4 on PC severe "drift"

So I´ve recently remapped from my HOTAS to a DS4 controller since I don´t want to bring my entire setup with me on travels for the weekend. However, what I quickly noticed as I started playing, is that my ships seem to pull quite a bit down and slightly to the right.

This is actually so severe that if I line up on a system and start charging my FSD for a high wake, by the time the charging is done, I´ll have to realign the ship unless I´m constantly adjusting it. I´ve also checked the readings from both sticks in the DS4Windows program, but they don´t seem to have any readouts unless touched. It is neither a problem in other games for which I use the exact same setup.

Anybody experienced this or have any fix ideas?

re calibrate your controls. :)
open search and search for game controllers. open setup usb GC. high light GC and hit properties, settings, calibrate. then calibrate your controller.

I use an xbox controller and I get drift.

I set the axis deadzones to about 10% on the alternate flight control setting and toggle that when I log in.

The minute I switch to alternate flight controls the problem goes away.

i had an issue. seemed to me when i plugged in controller axis's were not central. installed with the AXIS slightly off, after re calibrating issue was solved.
