The carrier arrived at Colonia today, in orbit around body 7 G and will remain here for about a week. The schedule for part two of the deployment operation will follow in the course of next week. The departure date will be around the 22nd of August, but could also change depending on the route that will be worked out. In the meantime feel free to explore the surrounding area, to get some conversation in inhabited space before we depart into the void. I also invite you to share possible POI in the West, North-west sectors on our route to Hieronymous Delta (via Discrod if possible).
Info : The time of departure was shifted towards 18:00 Servertime, as the travel distance increases and i would like to finish each waypoint in one go. The only exception to this will be between waypoint 4 and 5 (due to almost 10.000 LY of distance), where we will make a small pause in between (system for that will be random and announced here in time).
There are no POI for waypoint 5 and 6 yet. This is due to the distance of said POI from the waypoint(above 4.000 LY) and due to the falloff in star density / biological & geological objects. I will try to find something nearby, but those would probably be simple Stars. The far sector of the galaxy is sadly not explored yet.
Addition: The FC has now installed the Redemption Office module in order to be able to submit biological / geological discoveries. We also installed the Outfitting module for your convenience. Packages present on the FC include : Vehicle hangars, Ship utilities (AFMU / Heat Sink) , Mining utilities (Scanners) , Mining tools, Limpet controllers, Cargo racks and Fuel management.
The carrier was deployed yesterday around 23:30 Servertime.
So here we are, at the edge of our world, our Galaxy. With a total of 142 jumps, starting back in Alcor where the carrier was produced, we traveled a whopping 63.000 Lightyears in total. We saw stars huge and small, biological and geological imprints , remnants of times long gone. We took paths no one ever set their course on, we discovered and left our marks there. But although our journey comes to an end here, another is just about to begin. One may depart on a trip to Sagittarius A* , an objective many planed for a while. On an excurse to nearby stars and points of interest, or back to inhabited space. My journey however, continues here, at this new home that we all worked for together. As described by Qohen Leth the carriers of the DSSA shall become "Beacons in the profound night.... a mesh of safe harbours for anyone who would need a rest stop". This is why from now on i will dedicate myself to form a Haven of the West . An expedition expanding over Hieronymous Delta, aimed at not only mapping stars in nearby proximity of the FC and providing a visitors catalogue, but also at finding new astonishing sights, locating nearby Tritium spots for passerby FC and geological/biological POI containing much needed Materials for repairs, jump boosts and restocks.
Details will follow in time and a dedicated thread will be created on the forum. I also hope that it will be possible to get a follow up discord channel.
