You get a message (email?) from the Shipyard, telling you that, due to unfortunate circumstances, the shipyard has to close down. You get 2 weeks to notify them regarding your wishes what they should do with your ship. The options include sending it to another shipyyard of your choice, at your expense (of course) and selling it off.

The email is dated three weeks ago. When you check back on it, the address doesn't exist any more, the ship and your money have disappeared.

I would expect if the shipyard service was removed, then the ship would still count as being at the station but you'd have to use transfers to recover it.

What was the last time they removed a shipyard?
The shipyard at Dervish Platform was removed a few days after its addition a couple of years ago. It was quick enough that I don't think anyone had time to store a ship there, though.
(They were able to test what happens if you transfer a large-pad ship to an outpost, though)

I wonder:

As we know, a shipyard was added to OMO for the purposes of our expedition. If I store a ship there and carry on my merry way, what happens to it if the shipyard is subsequently removed?

I think they move our ships to the nearest shipyard active... Rohini, maybe. As when you park your ship in a rescue ship and it disappears after the station is fixed. Or when Jaques jumped, all the ships parked in it simply reappeared floating in space.

We dig dig dig dig dig dig dig in our mine the whole day through
To dig dig dig dig dig dig dig is what we really like to do
It ain't no trick to get rich quick If you dig dig dig with a shovel or a pick
In a mine! In a mine! In a mine! In a mine!
Where a million diamonds shine!

We dig dig dig dig dig dig dig from early morn till night
We dig dig dig dig dig dig dig up everything in sight
We dig up diamonds by the score A thousand rubies, sometimes more
But we don't know what we dig 'em for
We dig dig dig a-dig dig

This is my Mining Theme Song:

We have Pulse Wave Scanners in the station outfitting!!!

Thank you FDEV this is very much appreciated!!!

I'm having a blast learning how to mine...literally!

o7

If I didn't know better I'd say we were unlocking things at OMO with each new tier!

(I do know better though - they've already said the new tiers don't do anything beyond extra credits and rep)

Omega Sector JX-T B3-16 48.91ly from the omega mining operation has an indite hotspot in the ring of the 6th planet
Mining here is one of the best ways to contribute to the CG, as there are many asteroids to be found with over 50% indite content, going as high as 66.67% indite regularly.
This is not a core mining location, you will be using regular mining lasers (there are no indite cores to be found)
Note that you will need a detailed surface scanner to locate the hotspot, unless you have a wing member already in the hotspot

Good news yall I upgraded my type-7 with a PD from the bubble and I've gone from 80T an hour to 220T per hour. Got a great iridium wing escort earlier and made it back safely. Im at 1150 Tonnes and back in top 10%!

Not sure who else has tried this, but I tried mining with 2 collector limpet controllers, wow, so much faster having 5 limpets collecting bits! My original is an engineered 3A and I added a 5A from the station.

Yeah, that's totally the way to go. The limpets are usually the limiting factor when mining with lasers. My T9 has 2 controllers for a total of 6 limpets, and I don't think I could ever go back to fewer. ;)

Generally people who say mining is boring are not using enough collectors. I now tend to use a minimum of 9 and generally have just about enough time to prospect a new target before the current one is collected. More is even better.

This transforms mining from "sitting around watching limpets" to "quick, find a new target for the swarm". Interspersed with "why have you all killed yourselves trying to get to that fragment?" :)

I find that I can get by with five collector limpets for two medium mining lasers, if I take care to position my ship correctly. If you get really close to the asteroid and fire directly on the rotational axis, the limpets will work much faster because their flight time is very short.

Do you think they might add a 12th tier? I bet they didn't think that it would get anywhere near the 11 but sure enough it is heading there with two days to go. :D

Not sure that they'll a Tier 12, but pretty sure that Tier 11 will be hit before the CG expires.

I'm dead impressed with people's dedication: I've collected and delivered 1,350 tonnes and am (only) in the top 25%. Would love to know what the top 10 and top 10% CMDRs have turned in...
There must be enough now to build a dozen stations!
