[DW2] Community Goals

Given we pushed the goals all the way to 11 we should get one of these high luxury, all white, imperial-style orbis stations... That would be kinda disappointing to get a dingy outpost after that kind of effort.

Orbis-Station is already confirmed by Frontier. As for the interior - we'll have to let them surprise us. Nice suggestion :) .

(I would imagine not many were given the option - only ones where they wanted to allow as many people as possible to contribute. The Gnosis CG finished Tier 10, and wasn't given a Tier 11, or it would presumably have been at least part way there.)
The record mining CG got 875k but didn't complete (target 1M, presumably).

There have been a few mining CGs since reach max tier at 500k and stop, but nowhere near quickly enough that adding extra tiers would even have got them to the previous 875k.

So for mining, at least, this is definitely in a league of its own.

Imagine how much faster this would have gone, had they also offered a decal or something. Yikes.

I dunno so much. Probably depend on the decal. Last mining CG I participated in with a decal reward was actually only a few weeks ago, and only made Tier 5 of 8 I think.

Well I for one I'm happy with my piddly little 75% participation reward. You guys did it so fast I barely had any time to do much of anything! (Between work and my Xbox One screwing up. :p) If we do more mining (and I think we are?) I'll be better prepared to get into it. Let get going there's more to see/do woo! :)

Stage 2 has been deployed (along with the addition of UC).

Ah, what to do for the next few days... decisions...

After arriving at Explorer's Anchorage and pottering about for a day, I decided to visit Colonia as I've not been there before. Thanks to neutron stars, it took just over 70 jumps; a little over three hours' relaxed flying.
I'm now enjoying the sights and hospitality of mankind's distant colony, before heading back early next week to re-join the Expedition.

Well I just pulled in myself, and noticed that the controlling faction's security dial is well into the civil unrest zone. I'd speculate the DG crew ran out of explorers in Open and is trying to gank the CG itself. So one option would be to outfit for combat and knock out some bounty hunting before the system falls into lockdown.

Difficult, though.
For one thing, FDev changed the BGS mechanics, and we don't know yet how these changes will work out.
For another, there are no persistent BH zones in the system - no Navigation Beacon, no RES. All you can do is to hope that one of the USSes spawns something with a threat level, or go hunting with an interdictor in SC. Worked somewhat reasonably yesterday, but unpredictable.

If you decide to go for the USS, don't panic if you drop into a Threat level 2 and encounter a couple of 'condas and a Vulture in a wing - Novice 'condas and Competent Vultures pop easily :D

Just a short heads-up: The organisation-team is aware about the lack of certain mining gear at Explorer's Anchorage (Class 2 mining lasers, Class 4 refinieries, Pulse Wave Analysers and Class A-Prospector-controllers). We've contacted Frontier and asked to give the new station the same supply that Omega Mining had. If anyone stored their gear at Omega now is the time to start transferring it. Transfer takes 57 hours so your gear will arrive right on time for the CG.
