Did you download the combat tutorial? if so start the client - log in and download the game from there. hope this helps.
I'm having the same issue. I purchased the game on December 3rd, the boxed copy. However, due to the delay on boxed copies, I was given a serial number so I could download the game day 1.
I still cannot access the download button on the page, nor can I log in to the combat tutorial. It comes up with ''Unexpected error: Bad request'' or something.
Same for me. However I can install and launch the full game via the same launcher that comes with the combat demo.
If you have the launcher for the tutorial installed, there is a selecter at the bottom of the window that switches between the tutorial and the full game. If you select the full game, the "Play" button changes to "Install". At least it did that for me, and I was a purchaser of the Mercenary Edition.
Yeah. If you ordered a boxed copy that was delayed you should have an E-mail with a serial number.
Seems like most people can log in via Combat Demo and do it that way but it won't let me. I get an error at login attempt.
I hope you get it sorted, I just tried to visit the store website and connection is timing out! must be a lot of people trying to visit the site. Have you tried PM Edward Lewis https://forums.frontier.co.uk/member.php?u=47159 he maybe able to help with this quicker than the support.

I can't even see a selector
There was an update to the launcher recently. I can see the download for it on the account page https://store.elitedangerous.com/usd/customer/account/
Maybe give that a try? I had been getting the same error as you until I reinstalled the launcher a few days ago.
I also reinstalled the launcher a few days ago, perhaps that is the difference.
Okay, I'm trying that now. Hopefully this works, it sucks having my spirits dampened on launch day, haha
EDIT: I can confirm this has worked! Thank you SO MUCH, Starburst and KodiakAlpha, as lame as it sounds I would never have thought to update the Combat Tutorial launcher at this point!

I got the option of picking Combat Training or Elite in the Combat launcher... it starts installing, saying Sync Files... the bar gets to about 70 - 75% then it stops.... 10 minutes of waiting and I get a window saying : No data recieved in 10 minutes, aborting download.
I take it that the download servers are a tad overwhelmed atm, so I'll try again and hope it comes to 100% next try or one of the tries after that

Yeah, I have that. It's the first thing I checked. Strangely enough though it still won't work for me. Seems this is a very strange issue with numerous manifestations.
I'm glad I updated the combat tutorial launcher a few days ago. Sad that I'm at work, but I'm sure FD would have considered this and are using people at work as a means to control demand on download servers.
