Another useful post about crossfire:

anyone notice an issue where randomly all the blacks become dark green? seems like the issue isnt particularly noticeable in stations, but when flying around space (particularly the viper/sidewinder) it seems like the entire cockpit is surrounded in a green haze and I can see people's faded exhaust as thick green lines.
Crossfire disabled:
VSYNC ON: 75 FPS, no judder, 25 ms latency
Crossfire enabled:
VSYNC ON: 73-76 FPS, judder, unplayable, 50-55 ms latency
does this not back up what I and others have said?
obviously, you have the rig to test it and if ultimately it works for you great, but, (and do not take this thewrong way) but so long as the devs are saying it adds too much latancy, I personally am going to go with that rather than the subjective experiences of other users.
maybe IF I tried it I would find it perfectly ok, but personally I am going to just pay any extra cash on a stronger single core GPU.
but to each their own.
OR DK2 doesn't render the windows desktop correctly. My problem is I don't seem to be able to see my desktop in extended mode, I can only see a small portion of it, I can run some demos and they appear on my desktop but not the rift (they take up the whole screen in side by side mode, but my rift still just shows the small portion of blurry desktop as it's showing a portion of the left hand screen).
OR DK2 doesn't render the windows desktop correctly.
So one eye sees the left side, one eye sees the right. Completely different images and thus you get a blurry mess. You can see this more clearly by closing one eye.
For side by side apps I opened them on primary monitor, made them the right size, then dragged them onto my OR "monitor"...keep your right eye closed and you can easily see and drag the window into the OR.
Note: My OR is setup to be on the right of my monitors, therefore my left eye 1st sees the window being dragged onto the right, and thus I close my right eye when moving windows into OR.
Coffee not kicked in yet. Make sense?
You won't.I have tried that but I'm not seeing the whole screen
Leap Motion will be clippable on the Oculus Rift (youtube), could reinforce immersion in ED.
already posted a few times in the thread but it might block the IR diods on the rift and disturb the head tracking like that?
It's certainly blocking some of the IR Leds, it would be interesting to see how much of a problem (if any) this would cause.
[/QUOTE]Adding my order has shipped and arrived. Played ED yesterday - first VR experience in a long long time, no motion sickeness. Running on a i5 3.6Ghz@4Ghz and a overclocked GTX760. Didn't touch my settings at first, game ran lovely for quite a while - only noticeable difference was in stations.
Currently running with ambient occlusion off and shadows at medium, seems to make a lot of difference with very little noticeable change.
I just got the payment confirmation. Can someone please mark Hertog yellow as I'm on the bike right now![]()
