Great news. I had a box appear on my desk and the shipping info was still processing 2 hours after it had arrived.
So don't be surprised if you get it before any notifications.
Looks like I'll be working from home for the next few days.
Just hope it's not Wednesday as I've got to go down to Cardiff to deliver some training
Was going to get it delivered to my work office but thought If I get it delivered to home I could tinker with it in my lunch break
Me and a friend at work ordered within a few minutes of each other. We both got dispatch notification on the same day. Both had UPS tracking updates indicating that the item was out for delivery the day after. Mine got delivered, his mysteriously went missing for two days before finally turning up.

I managed to get a hybrid HDSSD yesterday and did a fresh install of W7, OR drivers, ED and nothing else.
Damn they are quick, from Bios to ready in 5-10 seconds.
Just waiting for Frontier to update to the SDK4 and OR to hopefully issue a update to make things in ED witht he OR smoother. (Still getting Judder atm)

I noticed people like Hicks got the processing notification on Thursday, it changed to Shipped in the evening and he received it the next day. I'm in the UK and so is the distribution centre so crossing my fingers it will be the same deal for me. Be lovely to have to play this weekend as the girlfriend is out with her mates on Saturday and won't be back till Sunday afternoon

My main issue with ED at the moment is that with the workaround, things just aren't comfortable and I'm a teensy bit worried I'm going to damage my eyes if I embed myself for too long.
What brought it home to me last night was running the quake 2 DK2 release made by dghost on the oculus forums. He's got some stellar integration with the DK2 in there and has a number of options available for turning on/off timewarp, chromatic abberration, IPD adjustments, etc. Being able to see the difference immediately within a game gives a good idea of how sub-par the experience within ED is right now compared to what it could be.
Hopefully the next beta may have some improvments.

Yeah, I've got a couple of SSDs and a HDD. Makes a massive difference to load times in Windows and games. Not sure how much difference it'd make in E: D as I've always run it off an SSD. I figure most of the wait time at the minute is related to network jiggery pokery.
Michael mentioned in yesterday's Twitch stream that they are looking at improving OR integration. A new release tonight or sometime tomorrow morning that makes it perfect and easy to setup would be great
I did the compromise and went for the HDDSD and for £50ish for a 1TB one It was worth a punt.

Wishful thinking there.
Hopefully with OR and FD working on their repective sides and with tweaks being discussed here, we should all be able to have great fun with the Rift and ED.

Overall experience...
Well its taken a solid week of my holiday reading and tinkering, but I'm happy enough with the results now to show off the DK2 at Fantasticon...
Just ordered an x55 which is due tomorrow and once that is set up ill head on up to my folks place, which is close to Hull. I'll be taking my laptop and Riftup just in case, but at the moment things are running smoothly with a high level of graphics and little to no judder (even in stations). FPS is staying fairly consistently at 75fps and my GPU is working at 99 % of its potential (780ti) ... Although there is room to clock higher if need be.
Judging from Michaels answer on twitch last night I have no idea if a patch is forthcoming or months away! ... You don't EVER want to play poker with that dude! Lol. Looking forward to meeting him at Fantasticon - he seems like a good guy.

The Oculus DK2 has ruined ED for me!
I was quite happy with ED until I played on the Oculus DK2 - now I can't play without it! I tried a little today, but I keep thinking how amazing things would look if I'd been wearing the DK2. My problem is that after about 1-2 hours with the Oculus on, I either start to get some eye strain or my face is melting from the heat.
Any DK2 owners experiencing the same when playing without the DK2?

I agree - I find trying to play without it very difficult. The only thing that stops me playing with it on is the Galaxy Map. Have you found a solution to navigate easily?
Not sure where you are but the UK's current warm weather is making it hard. Try and keep the room cool or buy a little desk fan.
