ED Background Simulation - Large Faction Influence Swing Mechanics

I was only talking about method 2. Looks like he just added the red text today and I'm just in time for being late for the party. Thanks for the help!
Yep, sorry, you would have had fun with unit trading etc :) But so would the other faction too....I noticed your post in the main BGS thread, you're trying to figure out a system influence battle right? Now is probably the worst time to figure things out as they've just changed on us...

Some things that I know are the case with the BGS right now that may help you:

  1. Trading with profit will help the faction in control of the station you sell at, if your faction has a station sell with large profits to help them
  2. Selling to a black market is a bit iffy at present as things were changed, I've done over 1mil into a black market in a 7mil pop and seen negligible influence drop (wasn't a test as such, just tried off the back of failed smuggling mission cargo)
  3. Bounty hunting seems to work well now for influence, maybe try and hand in bounties to your factions station for the faction you are against
  4. If you are in war nothing other than war will help you, stay out of war unless with the faction you want to beat and you know you can (if you match influence you can trigger a war with another faction, you'll see a pending state on tick if this happens)
  5. If the other faction is in war and you are not you could fight for the opposite side in thier war OR you can try and push all other faction influences up, they'll all take some of the influence off the warring faction as they can't gain influence through normal actions (only war)
  6. As touched on above missions used to help a lot with influence, now it seems (testing required!) that they are far less effective right now, trading works better if possible

Hope those help
