ED game mechanics that are now pointless :(

The originals all would have never been if DB listened as he does now to the dumb side of the community. Good thing forums were not readily available back in those days.... The originals would have wound up not being what they were.

See the same happening with another game that has some of EDs missing features.... The dumb community wants to nerf all the fun for easier pew-pew and PvP mechanics. Wasn't CoD enough for these people......They have to ruin every possibility of a great game hitting the shelves with their mental stupidity of nerfing all the simulation, and a magic button so they don't have to think.

The net result to docking fees, higher fuel costs and module/hull wear is lower Cr profit. So just ask for lower Cr profit. Problem solved. How is it any more realistic or enjoyable or difficult to press each module repair button instead of "repair all". Might as well have people refueling each separate tank instead of just using a refuel option.

I'd like to have a "sell all" option in the commodities.

You can make the game as hard as you want, impose restrictions on yourself. How other people enjoy it has absolutely nothing to do with your gameplay (gankers and such notwithstanding).

I am sure David Braben would be incredibly disappointed that Elite Dangerous has now broken down into who can earn the most Cr/Hr. At the risk of being called a forum dad, FFE and FE2 had docking and berthing fees, variable fuel costs and module wear and tear. It also felt much more alive because of them - at the very least in ED, if you G5 roll your FSD it should have an increased rate of wear and tear.

But no, lets max out Cr/Hr so we can all fly anacondas :|

That is an over simplification if different ships in the same roile had different running costs and so factored into what you wanted to trade with them.

Bulk carriers that were low maintence could make profits on cheaper goods for longer repeated runs, where as higher running costs ships stuck to high profit low supply items that required a more iterate trade style.

About making it a choice with consequences, not just everyone earns less credits.

For as you point out a sell all is the same a a repair all so the consquence is the same, but if the conseuqnce was difference and there was a reaosn to chose all or one by one then there would be a reason to make that choice.

There's Condas all over on the PS4 side, some have been around for a week or two. ED released June 27th on PS4... I myself just made enough $$ to afford a Python. I bought it and sold it less than 24 hours later. I'm back flying the more "humble" ships. In original Elite, the hours and hours of gameplay went to outfit your one original ship. The more I play the game, the more I realize how broken it is in regards to how everyone becomes a billionaire overnight. But, I personally don't need nor want to play that way.

That ain't workin', that's the way you do it
Permits for nothin' and your ships for free

My take is that the Anaconda is too overpowered so everyone thinks it is the end game ship, not realizing there is no end game. Personally, if it were me it would be nerfed to hell and back.

a good start would be to bring its mass inline with its size.

this should then bring it back into balance.

Yes, just moving a decimal point in the code is pointless.
I believe what the OP and other are advocating is to put meaningful gameplay and mechanics behind these items. Not simply changing costs. Just changing costs of these items would add nothing to the game.

I agree on the heat sink mechanic, but completely disagree on the fuel and repair stuff, especially the part about forcing players to repair each thing individually. Adding another annoyance for the sake of adding it is a stupid idea and Elite already as enough of them. It's like space legs inside stations. It'll be cool the first few times, then it'll just be a tedious time sink compared to just picking things from a menu. A game that's about being out in space and doing stuff shouldn't be adding unnecessary little things that take away time from actually playing the game. But then again, you seem like the sort of person who would use the "don't grind, just enjoy" argument, so probably not even worth it.

Just proposing to nerf anything should cause an automatic one-week suspension of posting privileges on the forum.

Worst idea of the week (month? year?) - let us take one of the two explorer ships away from those pesky explorers - they have too many toys already! /sarcasm
