Release ED-Intelligent Boardcomputer Extension

Community efforts is what Ive been using IBE for far more often than outright trading loops.
Or I'm at a station and moving off to another location and looking to move commodities along a hop route to a final destination ( station).

If doing a Community effort "goal' requiring a commodity , using the commodity search function works quite well if the system "Goal' location, is fixed , so you can search whatever light years around that "Goal" to find the cheapest, shortest light year jump, for the commodity required

If just pure trading and not hopping along a route ie: back to CEOS, from wherever I was.
I'm usually looking for "best possible highest returns shortest one system trade routes" which usually is Imperial Slaves from one system to another under 20ly, repeated until the price drops

With the simple "find systems" idea which you like, you may want to consider these uses of IBE in any implication

IBE is still the best trading software around :)

@sutex - sorry for the dumb question, but what is IDE? :)

@Duke - I will try to post a screenshot. Interestingly, it later happened that the "supply" data was incorrect at another system. The software suggested a supply of several hundred, but when I got there it was zero. I then clicked on "Landed/station data", and it still didn't change. Even more surprisingly, even the data on EDDB didn't change. Am I wrong or should my clicking "landed/station data" have updated that information? Or does the information on EDDB get updated automatically even without my clicking this function? Thanks!

v0.4.1 ist out

@Thales: can you post a screenshot, please[/QUOTE

I think sutex talked about IBE !? But not sure . sutex ?

When you press "Landed/Stationdata" AND next "Import Market Data" your own data should be updated immediately.
EDDN (and with this EDDB) will only get updated data if the checkbox "Send to EDDN" is checked when you press "Import Market Data".

Btw. : At the moment ED-IBE is blacklisted on EDDB (not on EDDN) due to message problems in the past .
I talked to themroc (he's the EDDB admin) and he will remove ED-IBE from the blacklist in near future,
because the problem ist finally fixed with v0.4.1.

@all: update to v0.4.1 immediately, thanks.

Edit: @Thales - your screenshot:
Filtering seems to be ok. Can you select Stewart Gateway in the Atagat manually with the "Station 2 "dropdown ?
Because you wrote
I then clicked on "Landed/station data", and it still didn't change
I assume you have not really imported the market data, because you also need to press "Market data" to get it.

Ok, thank you very much!

One more question - to update - do I have to uninstall and then re-install the new version?

Nooooooo ;) just install the new version over the old version.

Please read also the StarterTips-files:
1. Installation
By default, the program installs to half in the Programs
directory (C:\Program Files\ED-IBE) and the other half in the data directory
(C:\Users\{USER}\AppData\Local\ED-IBE). These paths can during installation
be adjusted. You also can specify the same directory for both parts (eg. "F:\ED-IBE").

At the end of the installation should go up for a few moments a cmd window.
During this time the database structure is created. If this window does not appear,
something is wrong. Possibly try re-installing in another destination directory.
A log of this action can be found in the data directory, if you experience problems.
(.\ED-IBE\Database\install.log).

If you perform an update the setup routine recognizes an existing
database by the existence of the file ".\ED-IBE\Database\data\ibdata1".
The database will be left unchanged, unless explicitly wanted due to
the selection of "Delete and re-create" in the setup dialogs.
Case something goes wrong and you want to delete the database again, you have to
run the installer again and check the checkbox for "Delete and re-create."
But have in mind all data will be lost.

May I make a suggestion? Is there any way the app could update itself automatically when docking at a station? I understand this has to be done manually at the moment. Apologies if I am mistaken.

Apologies, Duke - I have just realised that I had missed one of your questions in your post - the Atagat system does not show up in the station 2 drop-down.

This will come with the next version which will be released when E;D 2.2 is released. ;)

I assume that you didn't import the market data with "Import Market Data" , you only got the station data with ""Landed/Station Data ?
Possible ? You can try to go back to the station, import the data and then try again.
The only reason for missing stations is (normally, apart from the filter settings) there is simply no data.

Hi Duke - Great work - can I check I updated to v0.4.2 - from v0.4.0 - as the banner on help/change log reported new release - this then reported I have the latest version - but next time I opened ED - IBE - it again reported 0.4.0 and an update to 0.4.2 - although when I looked into the ED-IBE.exe it reports 14 Oct 20.39 - 0.4.2.0 file version and product version in the properties. Any thoughts?

I do not know why but I cannot insert or attach any png or jpg files even 17k so zipped attachment.

Duke - sorted - the 0.4.2 install went into a different old location - which was changed with the Beta of Guardians - so EDlaunch is in the root - as it would not update when in the old location - so ED-IBE was originally in the program files subfolder - but now in C root: - so it reported update successful - changed to using current version in the banner - but only for that instance - when I opened the shortcut it used the location of the 0.4.0 version not the update 0.4.2 - so I backed up - deleted all and reinstalled - it seems to be persistant @ 0.4.2

So user error!

Hello! Sorry if I am getting things wrong, but I have been having problems since the update. I used to contribute to community goals by "fixing" the station and then filtering station 2 according to the needed commodities (as suggested by Sutex). However, now only very few stations show up under "station 2" and none of them seem to have these commodities (see screenshot).

Also, does IBE now automatically import and export station data when you dock as previously anticipated with this version? Thanks!

Ah... I wonder whether it was through lack of data? I have found a station selling the commodity, have docked and uploaded and then imported data and now it shows up. Does IBE not import from EDDN any longer?

I'm working on this at the moment but the ED v2.2 has to be released for this functionality.
The autoimport is based on the new journal which is coming with the new ELite version.
I plan to release a new release ED-IBE on tuesday, when ED 2.2 is released, too.

Looks like the location of the EDDB dumpfiles has changed. (see the info on https://eddb.io/api).
If you need to update your database it's possible to download the files manually
into the data folder and perform a import by pressing "Import from manual selected EDDB dumpfiles".

EDIT : EDDN import should work as before (but also requires someone who uploads this particular data while you are online with ED-IBE)
