Release ED-Intelligent Boardcomputer Extension

new version v0.5.7 released !

@Kilandor: don't try it, it's still 3306

Thats fine I can go back to using something else or try some things....I am relatively certain I know a simple way to get it working.

However can you add some sort of warning in the install or on the form post to prevent other people running into an issue like I had. Something that warns that if you are running your own SQL server it may cause problems.

I will add a option to select a individual port during the installation in the next releases.
But if you install ED-IBE and you temporary shut down your sql server,
ED-IBE offers to change the port in the settings tab if it is running.
So both servers already can peacefully co-exist.

If you update to the next version later you don't need to take care about this again -
the update will take over/not change the existing port settings.

It might all be because I don't really understand how to use it... but I really can't seem to get it to work.

For instance - I would like to sell Gold to Tutumu station. I select fix station for Tutumu, and then filter for "Buy commodity - Gold" with station 2 - but I don't get any results. Despite downloading all the EDDB database. See screenshot. Any ideas?

everything correct so far

Have you pressed "Start Calculation" (<- required) ?
Or only "Activate Filter" (<- only for filtering stations without trade route calculation)
(hint: "Start Calculation" invokes "Activate Filter")

Did you press "Start Calculation" ?

EDIT:
I see ED-IBE finds only 248 stations in 169 systems. So I assume you did the 20ly bubble import, correct ?
If I ask the eddb (https://eddb.io/trade/single) and enter "Tutumu" as "Sell To" system and limit the hop distance 20 ly
EDDB also returns no results (be sure you set "available credits" to a adequate value).

The first station which is selling gold (set limit the hop distance to 80 ly, this is max.) is "Forward Mines" in "LTT 11926" (77.90 ly)
but this system is not in your 20 ly bubble.

The only chance for you is to fly around to the stations near the Tutumu system and find one which is selling gold.
If you got it ED-IBE will give you a calculated trading route.

Thanks. I did press "Start Calculation". I also had imported the WHOLE database which is why I was surprised...?

Then something went wrong as you imported the whole database.
ID-IBE has only 248 stations in 169 systems with market data in it's database.
You can try to re-import all data and then (before you close the "Data Interface" windows)
select the whole text of the log textbox, copy it into the clipboard and post it here or send it to me.

Maybe there we can find the solution.

For some unknown reason it worked this morning when I started it again... :)

Even for some other strange reason it doesn't seem to update very quickly... I picked up the last 159 units of marine equipment at the station, but when repeating the calculation afterwards, it still showed them in supply at the station. Maybe it doesn't change it until I dock there again?

ED-IBE is showing the supply, not the current stock.
And also the supply is not part of the trading route caclulation.

If a commodity once is reported on a station the information about this commodity will stay in the database (independently of stock and supply)
The commodity only will be removed if there are no updates for this particular one while other commodities on this station still getting new data
(with a security buffer time of 5 days or so between its last update and current updates)

'ED-IBE now can minimized after start'.... excellent ... now for a filter ( sorted ) on 'Notes' for Command log , while I speak to IBE and view it, in my tablet ..lol

All good, coming along nicely

... a filter ( sorted ) on 'Notes' for Command log ....

did you realize ? at least this function is existing.
Directly in the filter header of the column - or - mark a string in the 'Notes' and open the context menu.
There's something like "Filter by selected content".

To implement an alternative sorting is not so easy....sorry (btw. is this necessary ? - some other columns also have filters now)

No sorry didn't ..all I did was click on notes ( in a quick test) was hopping all the Notes would come to the top , then I can find 'the note' I'm looking for .. like black-market

but that's when I was using Commander log. As you know I favour anything that sits on my Tablet or can be accessed by it. Yet others may like that note sort function in IBE, dual monitors types.

PS really like that the start up can now be minimize , very slick as is IBE , great job :)
