Hm, strange. In the variables list are still the old values of 28800 for both settings.

Please stop ED-IBE again and the look into the process list of the windows taskmanager.
The must be no mysqld.exe running. If there's such a process, stop it manually and then restart ED-IBE.
Then query the variables list again and check, if the values are now taken over.

I may be missing something really simple, but what do the two 'star' icons/buttons do?
They seem to be selectable but I can work out what they do.

The star icons a an old holdover from "RegulatedNoise". I wanted
to reactivate them some time but had not the time to do it yet.
They should show the details of a star system in a browser.

to be honest: no idea what the benefits of "Trade Computer Extension" are.

ED-IBE offers a local database where you can decide which market data you want to share or not.
Also there's a automatically written log with many different events (more coming) - but of course you also have the chance to insert your own comments or entries.
You can add multiple filters to the route calculation (trading) and also for the the log.
What ED-IBE not does: ED-IBE is no overlay. For best results you should have a second monitor where you can
run your browser, other programs and ED-IBE. Of course you also can use ED-IBE on a single monitor solution
but then you have to "ALT-TAB"ing - but this's not really a problem.

ED-IBE has a bidirectional EDDN interface (sending and recieving) and a interface to send to EDSM.
Also the companion data is directly and automatically collected
(which can be sent to EDDN->EDDB if you want - you can decide to send market data and/or outfitting data and/or shipyard data .... or send nothing)

I suggest to try both programs. But if you try to use ED-IBE read the StarterTips (you can find them here) !!!! There are many
valuable tips and hints for using like filtering, settings, background infos and so on.

This happens right at the end of importing the stations.json, it gets to 99% then slows right down before crashing at 100%. It then doesn't import the listings.csv.
I have also noticed that I am getting no feed from EDDN, the I/O window is strangely silent.
The app had been working fine since installing it a while back.

I would upload the dump file it made somewhere, but its 1.2Gb

I suppose there's more information in the exception logfile. Can you send it, please.

regarding recieve EDDN messages:
Please check if the "EDDN listener status" is active and also "import recieved data into database" is checked.
I realize I 've got the same problem - it's under investigation....

Seems there's a problem with recieving EDDN messages. Can you check if
you still recieve EDDN messages or not, please. Best is to send me the info

hey,

first of all: I'm using it since several weeks when in the bubble, and i'm very happy with it! i was looking for a tool to collect market data in a specific part of space to dig deeper into changin supply and demand levels and prices .... BGS stuff - and it is perfect for it. i also love to use it for everday trading using my own collected data.

i have two requests:

1. would it be possible to include illegal commodities? of course that would be restricted to an actual trade you are doing - but the commanders log gives data for supply and selling price for illegal trade.

2. would it be possible to include a fix set of stations to run trade routes between? basically pick stations from your list, add them to route, and restrict the route to those stations or similar. i'm basically missing out to see possible trades from one station to a fix set of other stations (which is probably a BGS specific thingy). maybe that featre is already in and i don#t undertand how to do it?

anyway, thanks for the great work and thanks for sharing!

I have installed ED-IBE on my laptop, ED is on my PC. When I run ED-IBE I get two dialog boxes showing.
The first asking me for the location of the "Products" folder, I entered the network location of "Products" which it accepts.
The second asking for the location of the "Options" folder, I entered the network location of "Options" which it accepts.
I then get an "Exception occured" - ED-IBE can't find the "Saved Games" path. I have not been asked to enter this path.

The Dumpfile created is nearly 500Mb in size.

Is it possible to run this programme over a network?

Unfortunately it's *currently* not possible to run ED-IBE over the network.
I already started a solution, but had not the time to finish this yet.

Is there a .ini file where the game file locations are stored. As a temporary measure, this could be edited manually. I've looked but not found it.

It's stored in the database itself.
If you want to test it and ED-IBE doesn't start (this setting can edited in the settings windows of ED-IBE),
your only possibility is to start the database (look for the script "start_server.cmd") and connect to it
with a third party tool (like mysqlcc 0.9.4 (it's old but simple and slim) or other tools)
to edit the entry in the database manually.

If you're still interested I can tell you the details to edit the path with sql.

But be aware: I' not sure (I never tested this), but I guess it's possibly not working over the LAN.

and put there your latest ED-logfile from your gaming computer.

Now ED-IBE should start and you can edit the path in the settings window of ED-IBE.

Yes. That works. I now have ED-IBE running on my laptop.

I have now installed ED-IBE onto a USB stick, entered the network locations for the game as discussed above and the programme works on either my laptop or my game PC. A portable version of ED-IBE.

I have a problem however. "100 best trips" has been working with the above arrangement but has now stopped. I press "Start Calculation" it produces no result.

On the subject of prices, how are Market prices updated within the programme. There are numerous external data connections set, are prices imported automatically or is it reliant on a manual download and import of EDDB dump files?

What does the column "Collecting Time" show? Is this the date that the commodity price was updated?

I assume a filter "problem". Can you post a screenshot of your ED-IBE gui ?

You get price data
* when landing on stations (your private data if wanted - switchable)
* EDDN (when activated) (runs in background when activated)
* EDDB import (when needed/wanted, only to get a base dataset - not to be "up-to-date")

ED-IBE is designed as a local (private) data base - not a copy or frontend of EDDB.
I suggest to import bubble data (around your working location) *) from EDDB from time to time - not a full import.
So you get a base data set. This you can combine with your self collected data (fly to stations) and the automatically collected EDDN data.
So you will have a unique data base with unique trading routes (when wanted - you also can send your selfcollected local station data to the EDDN)

Yes, and the "source" tells you from which interface you've got the data.


*) For the first time you may import the full EDDB data but after that I recommend only bubble updates if necessary.
(the very actual prices comes from EDDN directly)
