After playing through the tutorials successfully using a remapped set of controls that worked much better for me, I launched into Solo Mode last night, only to find that none of my controller mappings came across. I assumed this was just a tutorials <--> main game thing, and proceeded to rebind all the controls to my liking. However, when going back into the game, none of them worked the way I expected. I tested this by attempting to flip the vertical axis of the left stick several times. I could go back into the controller assignments and verify that the setting change had been saved, but the vertical axis remained the same no matter what. I even tried clearing the axis control and manually mapping up and down tilt to up and down on the stick, respectively (and then to the opposite), yet the stick continued to operate the same. No changes made any difference at all.
Later, I came back to the game, and the first thing I did was ditch the advance dock assist, because in my testing above, I'd found having the computer fly me out of the station was unsatisfying. Suddenly, all my controller mappings worked perfectly.
Unfortunately, in a fit of frustration, I sold the module. That's fine by me -- I like doing it manually -- but I realized after the fact that I can't go back and verify the bug.
Can someone else try it out and see if the same happens for you? If you have the module installed and auto launch / dock enabled, once you're out in space are you able to remap the controller (in particular, inverting the vertical axis of the left stick, since that's what I was testing with) with the desired result, or does it fail to work?
