Release EDDI - Windows app for immersion and more

Couple of minor things.
1) Every time I close it the program it "forgets" my IPA ship name input. Slightly irritating, not sure if it's a problem with installing over old copies. Probably a meatbag interface error.

This looks to be working. When you put your ship name in does the box go red? If so then it's not valid IPA and will be rejected (I'll make this a bit clearer).

Hey, got a support question. EDDI 2.0.3 is working great in standalone mode, but it's not integrating with VA. I installed it using the installer from mcdee.net and now there is an EDDI folder under C:\Program Files (x86)\Voice Attack\Apps. When I run VA it displays "Plugin support enabled" but not anything about EDDI. I imported all the commands from EDDI.vap but I can't see the ((EDDI: startup)) command the troubleshooting guide mentions. I'm using VA 1.5.12, which seems to be the latest released version (the most recent beta on the website is 1.5.12.31).

You need one of the beta versions, at least 1.5.12.22, for EDDI 2 to work. There was a change to the plugin structure.

you need that beta version, caught me out too

N.B. EDDI requires at least version 1.8.12.22 of VoiceAttack to function correctly.

Uhm, the latest stable of VA is 1.5.12, the latest beta 1.5.12.31.
Do they mean at least beta version 1.5.12.22 instead? Or do I need to travel into the future?

Hi jgm
I'm getting an issue with eddi, trying to connect to the ED api isn't working (i thought the api was working now)
after i type the verification code it gives me this error:

Yeah that's a typo. Where did you see that version number?

Thank you for reporting this. It has been fixed in the latest release (2.0.4), but please let me know if the problems continue after you upgrade.

Version 2.0.4 has been released. This is a minor fix that provides the following:

  • Add FDev IDs for new ships and modules
  • Add phonetic pronunciation for Lakon
  • Fix issue where unknown IDs could cause a crash

Yeah that's a typo. Where did you see that version number?

From the main GitHub link...

...

Installing EDDI for VoiceAttack
N.B. EDDI requires at least version 1.8.12.22 of VoiceAttack to function correctly.
...

Now, onto my issue...I am in the EDDI2 configuration, and trying out the TTS test there, and am getting no sound when I hit the Test Voice button. I have tried different combos there, but still no voice. It did work perfectly well under EDDI1 just minutes before I upgraded it. I have not restarted my computer yet, so I am off to do that right now...

EDIT: Turns out, TTS was not working correctly in windows...nothing to do with EDDI. I resolved the issue resolved by changing my Windows Audio from 7.1 back to stereo.

Not the red box problem.

I'll try a fresh install as now it wont even load. (and thank you for your time in this matter)

Also noticed this on the github page, and assuming it is just a typo...the current system coordinates, I'm guessing, should be X,Y,Z rather than all X

...
{TXT:System rank}: the rank of the Commander in the system (e.g. "Duke" if an Empire system, "Admiral" if a Federation system)
{DEC:System X} the EDDB X co-ordinate of the system
{DEC:System Y} the EDDB X co-ordinate of the system
{DEC:System Z} the EDDB X co-ordinate of the system
{INT:System stations}: the total number of stations, both in orbit and on planets, in the system
...
Same with Last System
...
{DEC:Last system X} the EDDB X co-ordinate of the last system
{DEC:Last system Y} the EDDB X co-ordinate of the last system
{DEC:Last system Z} the EDDB X co-ordinate of the last system

Not sure what this is supposed to be
...
Docking denied

Triggered when your ship is denied docking at a station or outpost. To run a command when this event occurs you should create the command with the name ((EDDI docking denied))

Variables set with this events are as follows:

{TXT:EDDI docking denied reason} The station at which the commander has been denied docking
{TXT:EDDI docking denied station} The station at which the commander has been denied docking

Now for some actual questions that likely have very obvious answers...

I did not see anything about mineral content variables in the body scanned variables

The message received variable...this will allow us to have the incoming message read aloud?

Hey guys I can't seem to get this working on my system. I installed the program and it opened, it maxed out cpu at 100% for a few minutes then my computer became unresponsive. I rebooted and now the program will not open, as soon as I open it the closes right away. I've tried disabling antivirus, uninstalling it and reinstalling it, but that didn't work. Any Ideas?

My specs are:
ASus x99 Deluxe II
Intel 5930k @ 4.8 Ghz
32gb Ram
2x 1080's @ 2052 Core 5500 Mem
1.5 TB Intel 750 PCIe SSD
4x 850 Evo 500GB

If you had any old versions of eddi then you need to nuke them from orbit before installing. Including any eddi folders in the %appdata% area.

Same issue here, EDDI2 works fine stand alone but not with VA when .vap is imported as there is no command to set to start with when VA starts.

This is straight up awesome!

Is it possible to add a customized output action to events? For example, I'm working on a control panel that changes its configuration based on the ship's current status. In order for that to work, I need to be able to send simple communication signals to an Arduino.
