Hutton Orbital are launching our community funded "Passenger" voicepack this evening and rumour has it that he has built in support for anyone who has installed EDDI 2 as well ;-)

There will be a live stream tonight from us from around 9pm https://www.twitch.tv/huttonorbitaltruckers if you want to join in the chat in the studio, you can jump into the Cecil channel on teamspeak.laveradio.com on Teamspeak.

HCS have organised the licensing etc with Frontier and are selling it, and profits normally earned by the "actor" will be donated to SpecialEffect.

My thanks to JGM for all the work and for letting me interface all this work with EDDI!

Updated to EDDI 2.0.1 and ED 2.2, without a hitch.

EDDI unable to connect to the companion API with the following message:

Unexpected problem
Please report this at http://github.com/CmdrMcDonald/EliteDangerousDataProvider/issues
EddiCompanionAppService.EliteDangerousCompanionAppException: Falied to contact API server
at EddiCompanionAppService.CompanionAppService.Login()
at Eddi.MainWindow.companionAppNextClicked(Object sender, RoutedEventArgs e)

I've deleted the EDDI folder in (user)\AppData\Roaming and tried to re-enter authentication... problem persists.

Same here....

FD have yet to bring the companion API server back on-line. I hope they do so soon, but in the meantime I'm tweaking EDDI to be a bit more resilient without it and will release an update in the next hour or so.

No worries... thx!

EDDI 2.0.2 has been released to handle situations where the companion API is unavailable (like now). The changelog for this release is as follows:

  • Fix crash when companion API does not return correct information
  • Fix crash when starting EDDI after Elite has started
  • Attempt to patch around missing information when companion API does not provide it

Hi JGM great app this one, I will use it tonight, one question, it's possible when you select a material or cargo in space, that EDDI say how many you already have in your ship?

example: you select a material in space like WORN SHIELDS EMITTERS, and EDDI can say: "WORN SHIELD EMITTER, you have two in stock"

Unfortunately information on the number of items in your inventory is not available. There have been a number of requests for it, so hoping that we see it in an update.

Hey jgm,

While it's trivial to determine whether your ship has either a SRV or fighter hangar installed, there doesn't appear to be a way to determine whether the SRV or fighter hangars are occupied. Am I correct?

A quick update to 2.0.3. This is a minor fix that provides the following:

  • Fix issue where jumps are not announced if the companion API is unavailable

As always, let me know if you find any issues.

Thanks for the updates. Could you add an EDDI variable accessible to Voice Attack which reports whether the API is online/offline/available? Would be useful to bypass chunks of VA profile scripts which are expecting accurate data.

There has been no data in the companion API to date, but I'll take another look in the 2.2 API when it's fully available and see if there have been any additions.

Does EDDI VoiceAttack plugin function with Ocellus plugin/VA vap?

I use Ocellus for voice command controls for a number of ingame functionality; however, would be interested to know if EDDI2 features will work collaboratively with Ocellus? If not, is there another recommended voice command vap to use with EDDI to allow similar functionality as Ocellus?

I'm not aware of what Ocellus does, what is there that you would be interested in seeing in EDDI?

As for functioning, they shouldn't interfere with each other so should work together.

just testing - looks like the ((EDDI message received)) has stopped triggering.....

I just tried this and it seems to be working okay. It might have been due to the earlier issues with the companion API not working, which was having some nasty knock-on effects. Is it working for you now?
