Been trying to use EDO Materials Helper but having problems (worked fine on old win10+GTX1080 PC) on new win11+RX7800xt PC...selecting a desired mat causes a black screen; suspect a graphics settings problem as I dont know what Im doing in that area.

But my question is does EDD support the same functionality for Odyssey materials gathering/planning wishlists? I've had a look but cant see any appropriate help. I do like EDD, been using it for years, but there's so much functionality I know I'm only using a fraction of it. (Only found out about the Compass two days ago! 🧐)

No information on your absolute position is given in the journal, as in x/y/z. Its not that detailed that we can build an Orrery view (if it was, we would have!)
Necroing a very old comment from 2021 because I was interested in creating an orrery myself. It's been pointed out to me that in more recent versions, they do give you mean anomaly and other info that should be sufficient for calculating the actual position in orbit.

Though I suppose the limitation is you have to have scanned it? Or would it just show up for settled systems I wonder?
 
You can build an Orrery, and I had one 50% complete. The problem will be knowing you've understood frontiers information correctly, that would need a lot of checking, which stopped the process.

Interesting. Well, I do have access to a doctor of astrophysics (my wife :giggle:) so maybe I can take a swing at it.
 
It appears the patch note lied and there is no updates to the journal, so at the moment there is nothing to do - the minor miss of construction is not worth a release.
