Abandoned EDPathFinder - planetary base data point scanning helper tool.

"Skip settlements recently scanned by.." does not work, it simply doesn't have any item in dropdown. Did I do something wrong?

Also it would be good to remember "Route viewer" window size and position...

Are you running this on the same machine as Elite? Did you recently scan settlements? Are your journal files in the standard location (need to add a setting for this but currently it's hard coded).

for me my name is showing, but nevertheless the "Skip recently scanned" feature doesn't work anymore.
I think the problem is changed journal entries with the last major patch and EDPathfinder isn't updated yet.

Hey NeoTron, please keep up the good work!!

Curious. I don't think the journal changes in 2.3 should have affected this, but I'll take a look.

Some QOL improvements

I've just come across this tool and the prerelease features of the planetary scanning is great!

I have a small request though, would it be possible to have the planet number on the list too? so you know which planet you are flying to & maybe the distance to the main star so you dont end up going 200,000ls?

The Distance isn't important if it screws up your layout, its more of a nice to have feature.

Echoing what Graememk said, excellent tool you have come up with there.

Is the recently scanned, and explored system feature disabled atm, as both of these check boxes and dropdowns are greyed out for me.

Small request. Could you add the settlement class to the sort options? For example, I want to create a route for Industrial settlements only, which is the "1" in L1M because I have mastered the technique for these ones. Or perhaps for Scientific only because I want to learn this one particularly.

Thanks. Great tool.

I was watching thomgadget's vid on YouTube, "bubble exploration for rank and profit". Where he recommends your tool which he says has an exploration router in it. So I download the tool but not seeing tab or some clue as to where the router is ?

I downloaded the program, but I have some issues with it.
I run on an HP laptop (ENVY 17 with the display setup as per win10/HP (1920 horizontal).
The net rusult is not as shown in screen shots here - I get a very er er sparce layout with very small text and numbers = unuseable without lighting up the text magifier to 200% - then it is like playing ED - long patches of nothingness with the odd hox.
I have a screen grab, but don't want to clutter the thread...

Possibly a daft question, but does this need to be installed sonewhere specific on my pc? (Do i also need to build/deploy first, it as it's a github thing?)

Really cool program. I'm trying to use the mission target router and am not sure if i understand the point of it. When i add my current location and then my destination it just adds my current destination and how far the trip will be. Is that the whole point of that?

It gave me an idea which is to add a feature to add your current location, your destination and it finds things inbetween that you select such as the exploration router. Right now the exploration router just sends you straight out away from where you are. But if you can add a start and stop point and it shows you where all the specific worlds are between like water worlds, it would give users a chance to stop and scan stuff while doing passenger missions :)

thanks

Hi,

Great tool, I was looking to use this for the PS4 for exploring and was wondering whether I could suggest some improvements?

  • For PS4 and xBox users, the ability to use a custom list of systems to exclude from the exploration would be very useful. I would like to exclude visited systems, but without access to log files then this only works for PC users.
  • An added bonus for the above would be the ability to export the current exploration route into an exclude file.
  • Also having the ability to set a route without a round trip would be good.

Thanks :)

I could but it adds a lot of options to an already cluttered UI. Will see if I can do it easily.

  1. That could certainly be done, like a simple one-system-per-line file to import.
  2. I've been wanting to add an export option.
  3. Done in the just released 1.3 - it's not perfect but works.

This is likely an issue with scaling (do you have scaling set up?). I plan to add a menu option to disable the feature since it seems to get messed up sometimes.

It was available in the 1.2 beta. I just released 1.3 which has this (it's in the menu option)
