EDProfiler - A New Display Switcher/Robust Settings Profiler/Switcher/Detector!

Ok I will add it in the next update. Note, you can manually edit that field and put in your own resolutions :)
Just make sure there is an x between them, it can handle spaces or no spaces.

If someone could give me the exact location of the installation folder (with the elite .exe) for the Steam and Oculus Home versions of the game, I can add the "default profiles" for low, medium, high etc. for those guys too :)

Ignore this, I have just added functionality for adding that yourself if it can't be detected.

If someone can locate the setting that toggles the cursor settings, please let me know. With that integrated, I'll go full release.

It is ready otherwise! Gamma version released

Thanks! Also, anyone who has already downloaded and installed the beta, please close the program, delete the My Documents\EDProfiler\Defaults folder and reinstall the program :)

Last time you will have to do that, I promise.

(the VR Default and 2D Default profiles were set to some whacky values, I have made them normal. You can change those - when selected, hit the Save button and it saves the selected Default profile)

Are you going to move to a self contained solution? Really don't like tools wanting files outside of their own folder. EG. These files should be in the same folder as the tool.

All sorted now I take it - cant find any issues with the latest build

Almost certainly not. I did it like that so people could find and edit their own profiles manually if necessary, and also have access to the GUI profiles. It could be a potential thing to think about down the line tho. Sorry man

Ok, going live then :)

This is really great work! Hopefully some guys will upload their preferred configuration here in the thread, so that many could use this as a baseline. Big thanks for all you've done so far!!

That's a great idea mate :)

Ok LIVE version is up, it will now only check for updates once a week. It can be gotten from my brand spanking new website: http://www.drkaii.com/tools/edprofiler/

NOTE TO BETA TESTERS: You need to delete your entire ..My Documents\EDProfiler folder to run the program after updating to the live build.

Enjoy!

Here are my 2 go to Profiles:

I am having an issue with the 6 Graphics Settings buttons. Every time I click one I get the dialogue "Please locate one of the game folders where the Elite .exe is found"...

I then point it to the correct location, but when I click the button again I get the same dialogue box. I tried manually entering the correct path (see below) in the Paths.xml but it made no difference.
<EDInstallPath>C:\Program Files (x86)\Frontier\EDLaunch\Products\elite-dangerous-64\OptionDefaults</EDInstallPath>

Hmm, not sure then. What is the list of the names of the files inside that folder? BTW - is that the Oculus Home install location? :)

Here you go:
sptsJLf.jpg

No that's the regular (i.e. FD launcher) install folder.

Thanks for checking.

Hi me again :)

Couple of other funnies I've found:
- the Texture Quality drop-down has an Ultra setting but the game only goes up to High (when it's set to Ultra the in-game option shows Low)
- controls binding does not work - let's say my controls binding is called Custom.binds, the tool will write "Custom - Custom.binds" into the StartPreset.start file but the game is expecting simply "Custom". It doesn't find it so it reverts to the default.

Do you have a 'FORC-FDEV-D-1010\OptionDefaults' folder under your Products folder?

Try using that path if so.

Yep for the old 32-bit version. Tried that. Same thing happened.

Currently uninstalling my Steam version and will reinstall native version to see if I can reproduce your issues

Error on start

I get this error when trying to run: "Sequence contains no elements"
(German, sorry, I hope there's sth useful in it anyway)

EDIT: But when I continue anyway, it seems to run ok.

Does it do it every time? If so

1. Try deleting your EDProfiler folder (in My documents) and then running it again
2. Try deleting everything in %localappdata%\Frontier Developments\Elite Dangerous\Options\Graphics (TAKE A BACKUP), then running the game, and hitting "Apply" in the graphics menu. It should recreate them to something that works.

Just noticed, 3 GUIProfiles didn't make it into the published app. They are here if anyone wants them:

https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/80419112/GUIProfiles.rar

Put them in ..My Documents\EDProfiler\GUIProfiles

They will filter through in the next update. One of them is the Standard profile!

I did notice that had gone missing - theres also two or three with different names that are I think the same settings - will take a look when I can

Wow, thanks for that very quick reply. Step one made no difference. Yes, the error appears every time I start EDProfiler, and every time I try to save a profile. The profile files are saved, but empty.
I'm not sure about step 2. You mean the graphics menu in the game? That creates new default files, that are useless, all my settings gone (of course). And I still get the same error.

I'd like to try and run the app as admin. Maybe it's access rights. But I have difficulties finding the actual exe. I only find this: EDProfiler.appref-ms

Edit: in that appref I see: http://files.drkaii.com/EDP/EDProfiler.application
So is the app only online, not installed locally?
