EDProfiler - A New Display Switcher/Robust Settings Profiler/Switcher/Detector!

Interesting app. I'd love to try it but I'd definitely prefer an portable executable version instead of an installer. I'm kinda security conscious like that.

Install issue

Trying to install ED Profiler from the website with IE and get the message "missing required files" with the detailed message of

Any Ideas? Thanks

Sorry for the installation error, I've fixed it now. I did a bit of a clean up yesterday

Interesting app. I'd love to try it but I'd definitely prefer an portable executable version instead of an installer. I'm kinda security conscious like that.

Feel free to decompile it, just please don't share the source code. I stake my hard-earned youtube account reputation on its integrity. This needs to be installed because I update it regularly and it has built in files. FYI a virus can be portable too :)

Well an installer requires admin permissions so it can install into protected areas (progfiles etc). A portable usually doesn't require giving something you downloaded admin permissions.

It's just a suggestion. Might be nice for people who switch computers and want to move their data between machines etc.

Does EDProfiler need admin permissions? I never checked. All data is stored in a single folder in My Documents\EDProfiler, very easy to move

Can't run the file. AVG antivirus stops it from executing due to suspicious behaviour and has submitted it for detailed analysis. AVG doesn't seem to give any more details like it normally does with my friends startup tool he made. This is all AVG does http://i.imgur.com/kDONqi9.png

I don't use AVG so I don't know - does it not have a "mark as safe" equivalent?

It does, and I was about to do as such, but Windows SmartScreen flagged it too. I have never had anything get flagged by SmartScreen before so thought I would come here and ask what's up.

Smartscreen flagged it because it's unsigned. For a freeware app that I maintain as a hobby and rely on donations, I can't afford to keep it signed.

Yeah, my buddy just explained that to me. No worries. Tried hitting the trust button on AVG and adding to exceptions but its still not allowing it. Its just a long list of issues lately with AVG along with its ever-increasing spammy popups that minimise my programs and games, so after 15 years of being a fanboi, I'm moving to another free AV lol.

...that is if AVG lets me. Last time I tried another AV, even after AVG had uninstalled in safe mode, I still couldn't install anything else

Last time I had an antivirus installed was about 4 years ago. Windows Defender is good enough - never had a virus

Never liked Windows Defender. I placed a rat tool on my friends PC for sh*ts and giggles and was expecting some sort of response from Defender and I got nothing, which is strange as a rat tool can do some seriously nasty things to a PC if in the wrong hands.

Just switched over to BitDefender as Avira wouldn't install and I can say that BitDefender likes your app and there are no issues now lol. Now I can finally get to checking your app out.

Made a new gif!

Also, the tool has already produced results. Got a good colour scheme for VR users who hate godrays:

Full HUD brightness version: http://imgur.com/nmKGfeB

Pretty dark on full brightness, and can be turned right down to the levels in the image. Everything still very readable, but it isn't a glare with godrays galore. Oh, and it's Teal.

I call it Teal Twilight:

Play around with it to get it to your liking and make good use of the new editor!
