Discussion EDRefCard v1.4+ - new hosting, new maintainers (the follow-on to "EDRefCard - makes a printable reference card of your controller bindings")

One last one for Brammers - And the final part, the LH STECS max with the split throttle. Good thing I looked at the STG one I attached to the last message, somehow I put the unlabeled one in there. So the correct Space Throttle and Twin Throttle versions are attached here. The few buttons on the actual base are the same, however the PID with the LH Twin Throttle is different than the STG version, I included it in the image for the Twin. The STG image is the same as the one I sent you in PM.

Hi, I have a Thrustmaster Viper TQS 'Mission Pack' (Throttle and the switch panel) that isn't currently supported. I have the Support ref: iyhvye

Hey guys, I'm at a real loss. I have a VKB Gladiator NXT, right handed, so my VID/PID is 231D0200. I see people are putting this in as their device value (e.g. Device="231D0200") but what I don't get is that this is really supposed to match what is in DeviceMappings.xml (as in the tag name containing the matching VID/PID pair is supposed to be what goes in the device value in the bindings file). However, XML tag names can't legally start with a digit. So, for instance, the following is illegal:

<231D0200> <PID>0200</PID> <VID>231D</VID> </231D0200>

Are you guys just not updating the DeviceMappings.xml file or working around this in some other way that I'm missing?

Can we get EDRefCard to add an additional supported ID to this line:
to be something like:
in order to address this issue?

Thanks!

I'm currently not adding additional IDs to VKB devices, as they are adjustable in the software.

For the game mapping, you can put the ID into a copy of your file and call it "custom", Elite will find it and use it if the device IDs match - no device mapping required!

The DeviceMappings.xml file is provided by Frontier and could change with any update which would undo any changes made to it.
All it really does give the device ID in the binds file a name rather than an ID. Which they seem to mainly use so they can have a single bind file cover multiple Gamepads with the same layout.

What are you trying to do?

I will try your suggestion when I next have windows booted up. I'm hoping to get the presets menu to have a clear name for my device. I've got that working and hope I can keep it working without using the DeviceMappings.xml. Also, it would be good to have EDRefCard be able to correctly digest the device to get a good result.

Today has been burned up trying to get one branch of the latest work on PSVR2 support in monado running. The guys working on that have gotten pretty far (but there is probably a long way to go). Took me quite a while just to get to the point where hello_xr was displaying cubes on my PSVR2 headset. Anyway, someday I hope to see ED running on PSVR2 under linux -- to be clear, this is not the primary reason I'm trying to get this stuff working.
