EGX revelation questions/concerns - On board fighters | Faces | Loot & Crafting

Faces:

Faces are awesome;
Have a name & face generated for each of the minor factions, to be a persistent representative of that faction on that station we get to know.
Same for the local Contacts - the Police, the Blackmarketeer, the Naval Liaison Office
Mission Targets get a face to the name
If there are faces and avatar - Fare paying Passengers, stow aways, Imperial Slaves, refugees - can all be given missions and life to it.

If they can link fashion to Minor Faction and Government type to so that minor factions will have a common style depending of if they are Imperial or Allied or Federal or Independent, and a different layer of style to if they represent a Communist Regime or Patronage or Democracy, so you can see the common lines of Government type in fashion across the Major Faction lines

None of that relies on if we ever see other Player Avatars or even our own.

But heck we have a top Five wanted Cmdrs , imagine if that came with Wanted Posters.

Multi-crew is tricky.

How do you make multi-crew worth it more than just bringing a second ship?

Seriously, it's not like cost is a deciding factor - because you can afford everything in the game less then 1-2 weeks.
Not everyone plays the game according to a spreadsheet of effectiveness/cr. per hour/DPS. Some of us like to do stuff because it's fun.

Hehe you want to be careful with that kind of free thinking around here, people don't like it. :)

But again, if your Condor gets blown up? What happens?

I think it will be the same as with the buggy: When you are driving on a planet and die inside your buggy, you'll get back in your ship... it will be the same with the fighter I think!

The Screenshots are looking good! I'm glad we are almost in Oktober... yeah, "Vorfreude ist die schönste Freude"...

Yup, that'll be me. I could probably earn in a week what I will earn in the 6 months I have been out exploring. But I have enjoyed the exploration process much more than I would have 2 weeks of mad trading.

Z...

Two fundamental things are quite unclear to me in all these new announced features:

1) Multi-crews - was quite skeptical even when I saw SC demo about them. Meaningful gameplay that would be INTERESTING for guys that do NOT pilot the ship are quite hardly imagined at this point. You can't practice lightsaber or play some space game chess with holographic monsters in Elite :)

2) Fighter/fighters launch from a bigger ships is quite questionable. F63 is blown up after 2 pews from my Python lasers. Hard to see what that would be useful for at this point.

However, FD are people who think quite a lot about what to do with a feature, not doing things just for them 'to be there', so I have my fingers crossed.

yes, like this.

yes lots of questions, as usual with FD, we are teased and it raises lots of questions.
Even this screenshot, what is the panel being used for by the other player.
if anyone can get a clearer close up, would be better.

The other player is playing a new game only just released called Star Citizen.

Hi there,

Maybe it's just me, but all discussion of stored ships is about fighters? Again, maybe my imagination is acting up, but this could be awesome for traders. For example: you park your T9 next to an outpost and, since it doesn't have a large landing pad, you use your on board shuttle to move cargo. Same with Orcas and passengers.

Alse, judging from the artwork, we will get huge ships that may not be able to dock even at starports, and that's where shuttles come in. If, say... Beluga Liner or Panther Clipper is too large to dock, all business with stations / outposts is done via shuttles.

Or are on board ships just for pew pew?

So, now there's some clever thinking. A way for large ships to trade at outposts. And a reason for someone with a T9 to own a Hauler...

Is that what happens RE the buggy? Seems a good (if a little gamey) solution!
