Elder Scrolls 6

Indeed it would. I guess the biggest difficulty for Bethesda wouldn't be creating such a large game area, but to fill all of it with content.

What they could do is get all the other games content thay have and just add it to those areas. It would be like a graphics update to Morrowind, Oblivian and Skyrim, but have them all in the same game. Obviously some bits would need to be revised like the main quest line, but they have loads of stuff already available from the older games.

Not like it hasn't been done either. Vvarenfell in ESO is the same map from TESIII.

That would be awesome.

What I look forward to seeing is how they top dragons. This is a big reason for my Akavir theory. I point to the tiger-dragon people.

There is no need to "top dragons". New stories don't have to escalate the stakes everytime until the whole universe and creation is at stake. That gets stale after a while.

It reminds me of Rivenspire in ESO. I believe Todd Howard once said he wanted to revisit High Rock sometime.

In the trailer you emerge from the fog and mountains that separate Skyrim and High Rock with the ocean on your right, arriving at the northern tip of High Rock which looks like this in ESO.

I agree that Rivenspire it resembles.

Perhaps the Forsworn are going to return? Maybe seeking Daedric allies?

I'm not quite sure it will take years, Fallout 76 this year and ES VI next year I would assume.

The schedule for games from Bethesda goes like this:

Fall 2018 - Fallout 76
Unannounced date (2019 - 2020) - Starfield
Unannounced date (2021+) - Elder Scrolls 6

Todd Howard said that Starfield has been in production for years now but is currently in a playable state, while ES6 is still in pre-production and not playable at all. ES6 is not coming out for many years yet, I'd wager that 2021 is the absolute earliest, but unlikely. It's a "next gen" title, meaning it will be for the PS5 and Next Xbox (Nextbox?).

For comparison, ES5 Skyrim was first announced in 2008 and it released three years later in November of 2011. ES6 was first announced yesterday in 2018, so three years later puts it at 2021, at the earliest.

We have quite some time yet to get that arrow out of your knee.

I look forward to hearing from Todd Howard about all the things that will totally be in the final game, that I will buy anyway and play for hours before I notice how many of those things are not actually there.

People like to hate on Todd, but I think he's pretty awesome myself. The dude has charisma. :)

I, too, am really looking forward to ES6. They'd have to really mess it up for me not to buy it. I hope they continue to do full mod support in all their single player games, though. I'm a little worried these days given their trip ups with paid modding, Bethesda Net, and now Fallout 76 being multiplayer first and foremost.

I sure as hell don't hate Godd Howard.

He (and his guys) made most of my all-time favorite games. I have more hours spent on Elder Scrolls + Fallout franchises than I have ever spent in all other games combined. (a big part thanks to modders as well, but Bethesda takes the credit too for providing such easily and deeply moddable games).

I even forgive him for wasting time on crap like Elder Scrolls Online and Fallout 76, as long as Elder Scrolls 6 is on the way. Most likely will be the game of the decade, like Skyrim was for this one, and Oblivion the one before.

Can you believe his first TES game was the runt of the litter? He worked on Redguard as his first project xD

Actually as far as I'm aware Beth Softworks and game studio has not much to do with ESO, that's all Zenimax.

What ever the game is I hope they sort out the little things, like not linking animations to framerate, which after a long break from Fallout 4 and then coming back to it and realising how terrible the mouse controls were, the fixes just broke the game for me.

But I see they will still be using the same engine so not much chance of that.

Have a rep. :)

Heh heh! Yeah, I barely remember Redguard. My first Beth game was Daggerfall, which a friend of mine introduced me to in high school. Been a fan of theirs from then on, and I've played just about everything they've done since.

Don't get me wrong. I have played and loved all the main Elder Scrolls games since Daggerfall, but Bethesda have a habit of over stating the deliverables.
