Oh come on, hardly "beyond reasonable", given how easy it is to find an Interstellar Factor to clean your ship. If anything, I want bounties to be much higher than they are.
Oooh touchy! Hint: I was joking. Sort of... Anyway, the reference was to the 100s of Ly dislocation when the pilot died.

I am really really curious what it will be able to do in future. (comets? solitaire asteroids? black black holes? moving atmosphere? Clouds on gas giants?)

Early concept art shown since early days of alpha suggests engine were (and thus still is) capable certainly at that point to do stuff you mentioned (remember seeing f.ex. ship flying among clouds of a gas giant, so I bet those would move also even just for immersions sake, for there to be any point to "go there").

But then again, for a limited group working on planets we can´t land/fly in yet, how many years of development will it be to make atmosphere of gas giant with lightnings to behave realistic, and also look good, or how long it takes to get all numerous PG created life to behave in wanted way?

Years obviously so far, FD knows better but won´t tell.

Fixed an issue that could lead to single planetary scan missions not completing correctly

Does this mean that planetary scan missions now complete for the planet you're on, rather than a random planet in the list if you have more than one mission?

I'm an Elite deep space explorer, and all this update does for me is slightly change the colour of the identical moons I can land on, and give me hundreds of extra materials slots I don't need even though I'm in a Sidewinder with no cargo capacity; I mean where does it all go?

But it does plenty against me. It renders my hard-ground Engineering upgrades obsolete unless I abandon my expedition, return 20,000-odd Light-years to the Bubble, re-grind everything, then fly 20,000L-y back out again, for no reason. It adds another element, Carbon, to my FSD Injections, so that now in order to keep the use of all that Jumponium I already collected, I've had to stop what I'm doing and collect a hundred Carbons, for no reason. And it makes me navigate an 'Add to ignore list' sub-menu whenever I try to select a material for collection in my SRV, again for no reason. And still the planetary illumination hasn't been fixed so that only half of a planet is lit up by a star, not half of it plus a bit around the back end as well.

How do the devs sleep at night knowing that their flagship space-sim can't even get planets lit up accurately? Why do the devs hate explorers so much? It's BEYOND: A JOKE—

If we have more light bulbs on our cockpit, I'm for a "Turn Off That Damned Irritating Asp Side Cockpit Lights" purchase item...

An option to 'unplug' the string lights when we want would be amazing. I'm also 100% for being able to turn off the damn overhead lights in the Anaconda. They're annoyingly bright.

I do exploration old way, without jumponium and neutron stars.
So I guess I´m ok if satisfied enough on my long range Anaconda, as I understood old engineering were not removed from FSD (or if it were, well I just get to seek ELW´s on my way back to Bubble, instead of going other direction).

But about light on dark side of planets, it seems from close that at planets without atmosphere it is Milky Way star-disc acting as a source of the light (check planets with atmosphere, much darker on night side, though ofc we can´t land them and those still are actually just placeholder images now, but I bet end result will be similar).

edit: perhaps also light from our ship in Super Cruise (as we see other ships in SC bright like comets) might be a source of light at times especially if planet has no atmosphere to reflect that light off

Thank you fdev, 3.0 absolutlly rocks!

I just have one concern: Are the ramming cops fixed? i'ts too annoy get damage/fines every time one cop try to can you while your silent running are turned ON.
If you are transpoting passengers some of them will cancel the mission because of the hull damage/crimes commited;

You can't really blame the cops for colliding with you when you have done your best to be invisible.

So now Bounties are Bound to Ship.
And Players can Filter to See Player Trade Routes.

RIP Open Play.

Now the Gankers will always know where to other Players and if they are fed up for the Day they will just Change to another Ship and be Clean again to do whatever they want....

Sigh...
Somehow this is Depressing.
Good thing I am not Playing Open anyways.

At least the Shock Cannons look interesting.

Minor crime fines and bounties are linked to ships major crimes like murder are also linked to player in a way that the more murders you commit the higher your costs get especially if your ship is worth more than the victims plus it will reduce the victims rebuy.

Doubt it will stop the G kids but it will reduce the fun when the bounty cost doubles their rebuy.

What a bummer! I just spent a week travelling around the bubble grinding the collection and pinning all the Blueprints I wanted to use in Remote Workshops. Only to be told in the 3.0 REMOTE WORKSHOP that I have "No Pinned Blueprints" - AAAAaaaaarrrrrgggggghhhhhhhh... OK, that's it - I need a few weeks off elite to get over this :(

All the blueprints changed.

Greetings Commanders,

Ships
  • Added the Chieftain. More manoeuvrable than ships of similar size and weight, the Alliance Chieftain from Lakon Spaceways has been designed not only to dish out punishment, but to avoid it. * Horizons only

Where can I find this on Xbox one? I've searched online everywhere, checked EDDB, Roguey, etc. and can't find it anywhere.

Aliance high tech systems are a good bet, check Inara.

Greetings Cmdrs,

Can anyone quickly help me out where I can change the ship voice assistant between Verity and Victor?

Appreciate your help, Fly safe and enjoy 3.0 I love it already!
Livery menu.

Actually ... there is no civilization around me, no Interstellar factors within my reach, no chance to refuel, I have only basic sidewinder, no fuel scoop and can't outfit or switch ships because of anon protocol. So the only thing I can do now is to kill myself, be re-spawn at that ng detention and have the ship transferred for huge amount of money. All of that because of surface scan and exactly 4500 CR of bounty in a system that is in the middle of nowhere.

As you were sent to the detention centre all fines and bounties from the faction that sent you there should be paid off as part of your rebuy costs so you should now be clean. Unless of course you had earned other fines and bounties first.

As usual, for about 3 years now, Frontier continues to develop the game on a regular and methodical basis. How many lines of code have been modified or added since the release of beta 1.? Phew, a figure in the millions?

Now, Elite Dangerous is more and more stable, (not surprising after all the work done since the beginning), more and more beautiful and more and more complex, with a more and more abundant content.

I'm very patient, because so far, the servers have always been stable and the Frontier team is doing a great job to make sure that ED is and become the best space simulation game in the world.

Thanks again for this update.
And thank you also to all the testers who allowed to refine this update.

Has anyone noticed the new and improved element grades in the raw materials trader don't match what's in the ship inventory yet? And, for some reason the quantities are showing 100 as the max quantity for everything, even though I could have sworn I saw different numbers in there when I first logged in?

One change to crime that I don't like...
WHY can we NOT pay off our fines/bounties in system? Why do we have to find an Interstellar Factor?
Trying to do surface scan missions is bloody impossible, if I get a trespassing bounty every time!
