Not really. That's a misconception. I had 34% already done on the way to Elite II that got wiped out. I don't care because it doesn't even make up for all the free rank I got because of the error.

and the fact you dont care is irrelevant
whoever was a geneticist and intended to get to elite (even more if they didnt cash in between u14 and u14.1) now will have to grind back their ranks to geneticist
it is stated clear in the opening post
they should have reset the rank to fit what you have gained under the new ranking thresholds, so you can see how much your progress was rolled back
No, i'm mad about the fact that i'm now downgraded from pre-u14 geneticist to now cataloguer. Sure the payout increase was IMO to high, but now being downgraded that much. grrr

Not sure how you lost any rank at all. I didn't. Nobody I know did. We lost the progress we had at a given rank, but not entire ranks.
That's INARA, 3rd party software. It probably got confused by recent Fdev tweaks, so take what it shows with that in mind.

You lost the ranks, but it's not Displayed. just look at the numbers i posted earlier in this thread and re-read what Sally posted.
Your "experience" remained the same
But they moved the ranks higher
So you have Elite rank, but now your Experience level is the one needed only for like Taxonomist
And now you have to cash-in (get experience) to get back to the new level required for Elite before seeing any progress towards the next rank

but Inara will show your current rank - and you have to cash in enough to get back to your rank, before seeing any progress to your next rank
(which, again is a non issue if you dont want to progress)

But if you didnt, you'd be back now to cataloguer or taxonomist and you'd have to rerank back
I didn't. I just played during it. I didn't have anything I was holding on to.
If people did that, then they deserved to lose rank. That's probably why I didn't, either in game or on INARA as my sig clearly shows.
Huh. If you indeed lost ranks in game, then it was not how Fdev intended it to happen. If you really miss them, then maybe contact support.
As i said, i've been Geneticist with roundabout 80% before U14. After rollout of U14 I handed a couple of samples in which boosted me to elite II rank. With regular paidouts I would have come closer to Elite rank, maybe I would have reached it.
At approx. 4:50 pm I got an message that I've been rewarded with the Cataloguer Rank in Exo. I checked immediately the right panel and there it was -> Cataloguer.

So 4 samples only took me up 39% on Ecologist rank but somehow you say you turned in two samples that took you from Geneticist 80% all the way to Elite II?
Yeah. Something is completely wrong with that. Like impossibly wrong.
Still isn't legit. I turned in triple that amount before they nerfed it and never made it anywhere near that far.
Fundamentally, I'm not a Geneticist anymore as my "experience" probably put me down multiple Ranks. And I have to re-grind those same ranks (blindly) as I did before U14. Can FDev publish the $$ per rank? I was at $360m/Geneticist (with old scale). With the new Scale, with $360m, I'm probably a Collector or something like that. To me this is so wrong and FDev (and some of the cmdrs posting here) don't seem to get it.
