Jesus jockey. You really didnt pay attention to it at all did you?

I mean this is intentional trolling at this point. There is no way you cant understand this. Unless you willingly just dont want it.

Thats okay though.

Sigh all you want.

Reading is your weak point ins't it?

You're using "War Mode" as an example, yet it is a separate shard on the server.
So those who don't want all out PvP wont see it and can ignore it and play as normal.

It's not that different to the mode system we currently have. Those who want Open can use it, those who don't can ignore it.

But feel free to continue to ignore whats going and being insulting as normal.

Its the SAME SERVER JOCKEY. Different filters.

Remember the server merges that happened a few years ago? There is controlled content thats shared between the two. Now PVE and PVP servers are Merged. And its filtered between PVE and PVP. ON THE SAME SERVER.

Jesus H christ Jockey.

Only WoW does include a basic PvP/PvE flagging system... which ED does not. WoW has had such a system since release, actually- regardless of PvP-only servers being introduced.

And everytime anyone has proposed such a flagging system for ED it's been shouted down (mainly by the PvP community).

I would support such a flagging system. If you're flagged PvP then you're fair game. If not, you're not available to get shot at by PvPer's.

That said, a "one-shard" system would only work with such a flagging system.

Open. Solo. Private.

Pretty sure this makes a lot of sense if you want it to.

A simple toggle on/off would make sense if you wanted it to.

At the end of the day, it still doesn't solve the problem with those with less-than-optimal internet connections, however.

We already have the toggle man. Pick the Mode. Risk is assessed with each mode you pick. Its quite clear with mobius' existence. No different from wow. Hell I played on a PVE server when I first started.

Toggling shouldnt be available in Open though. Not with the existence of the modes and options as it is.

I do agree internet connections is a problem. Like league does, they send you warnings and punish you if you knowingly participate in ranked play while you have bad internet connections. Just simply dont take part in that part of the game. That would be on the user. Not the rest of us.

I just fail to understand why other games can handle all these issues up front. And you guys think Elite Dangerous is incapable of making changes to funnel content correctly.

I also dont understand why you guys go against the grain so much. Just doesnt make sense.

Hold on. Let me understand.

Can the PvPers see the PvEers?

Can the PvPers attack the PvEers?

Nope. They cant. But the PVPers have higher risk and reward than the PVEers do. And the PVPers have specifically made content for zone control and rewards. The PVEers have like minded NPC's for the Feel. But dont have Zone Control for winning on one side or another at this current time. Since its all one server.

There are multiple servers yes. And people will compete respectively within their shard. But the ones who engage in PVP is the ones that control the Zone, get better rewards when you fill your bars and so on, heres another video about it.

This one has to do with Islands and not world PVP. Some of the principals apply. But arent the same as the world PVP as this would be an instance.

I hope you watched the first video first?

So, the PvPers are effectively playing a different game. To translate this into ED, it would be like all the PvPers playing in their own mode right?

Sure, i'm down with that. Give yourselves a billion credits bonus per second if you want. Just as long as Open becomes PvE only then.

Nice suggestion! Gets my support.

For how the main game PvP will work;

1) Yes you can see each other

2) No, you can only attack another player who is also flagged for PvP.

As for the video, he clearly states the open PvP is on an "Island" - away from the main game.
The link 90s ignored says it's on another "shard".

So the new mode is separate to the main game.

Yeah, go watch the first video.

But yes they would have their own layer of content. But would control the rewards for winning for the PVE side. Encouraging people that normally PVE to PVP for zone control rewards. All shared on the the same server. Which ever it may be.

But nice try with the twist of the words. Clever. But transparent as usual.

I didnt ignore it. lol.

There is a VIdeo for the Island guys, and the First Video addresses WORLD PVP and quests and rewards. Separate from the Island content in the second video.

No wonder. You guys simply dont pay attention and still fight against stuff.

Whatever, do what ya'll would like.

If anything that proves you guys continue to be one sided intentionally. That simply wont fly for balancing a game.

Much similar to how open-world WoW currently works. Players flagged for PvP can attack anything they wish except for non-PvP flagged players.

I actually like how WoW's flagging system works, makes things really simple.

huh? WoW has zones of control? Well, TIL.

But they are separate? Fine... go ahead in ED. Give the PvPers their own bubble if you like. Maybe make it a requirement then to have the PvP flag set to enter there and no PvP outside it.

Regardless, sounds like you are in favour of a PvP flag system. That might be cool for Open. Might see a lot more people in it.

Don't worry, we will. :)

Game is already "balanced". As the saying goes, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

The newer features coming though encourage PVP. And prompt people that normally dont do it. To get involved for area of control. As the PVEers wouldnt get the option for that control. The PVPers do. For participating you have higher risk, but better rewards. And if you win, for a certain amount of time the PVE crowd gets rewards for winning the contest against other players. PVEers have no control over this. As it should be.

Their whole flagging system is changing. Because the content is based on Players intentionally effecting one another.

Still opt in and opt out.

But YOU DO ALL OF THE PVP. OR NONE OF IT. As it should be. The PVE players have no effect on the warzone end. But the Warzone end controls what rewards the PVEers get for that zone.

This is called Funneling.

Otherwise, People would just PVE because its efficient for that zone control. Just like we have in Elite. Which needs to change when it comes to PVP activities.

Well, Power Play is broken.

Too much grind, not enough fun and not enough consequences for jumping from faction to faction.

Everything else seems okay though :D

....

Correct, so go play CQC and make ED PvE - as it should be.

As it is currently.

Open = direct PvP

BGS = indirect PvP

And thats not proper. As shown as a prime example in World of Warcraft. Why they defined PVP and what its for.

Cherry picking is not going to help you guys here.

Again proper funneling and definition with rewards for doing so. Encouraging the PVP style of play. For people not involved in it. Still opt in opt out.
