Honestly? Half the world is using MTUs below 1492 because of (A)DSL and you realize that after more than a year?
Unfortunately some bright spark introduced a server "update" in the early hours of the 5th November last year that resulted in some of us experiencing almost 100% "transaction server" connection errors. The "work-round" of having us change our system's MTU to 1450 would indicate that perhaps FD were utilizing some larger size packets from that point and so far have not decided to change their server software to eliminate this behaviour. I find it very hard to believe that nobody in FD could identify this as the problem in over 2 months of "investigations".
