Patch Notes Update Elite Dangerous: Horizons update 2.01.02

Hi - cant really be ars*d to open a bug report... but just to let you know.. whenever I try to land at Black (Rise?) (home of the Dweller Engineer) the game wont load out of orbital cruise (the transition starts to Glide starts but the game just completely sticks in the 'loading transition' from Orbital cruise to Glide. Have tried this several times on several days. The fix seems to be to log in in solo mode but havent yet got it to work in Multiplayer mode. Im sure this is not happening for everybody, however I would assume that it is probably for many people the same as I have no trouble docking usually or visiting other engineers etc..

I've seen this too although it usually clears after a couple of minutes - that's too long for sure.
 
Greetings commanders, we have an update on the way this morning for PC and Mac platforms.

The galactic servers will go offline at 10AM UK time and we expect for up to two hours of maintenance.

Below are the changes for this update.




Stability Fixes
- Prevent crash on encountering a replicated cash-for-cargo trader
- Fix server crash on non-turn platforms
- Fix for VR crash entering a location
- Guard against player recreation when transferring location for exploration databases


General Tweaks & Fixes
- Fixed commander name on Xbox when receiving an inbox message for a newly granted system permit
- Fix rank up notification inbox messages being incorrectly hidden
- Fix ammo being incorrectly removed from modules that have had their ammo capacity increased by an Engineer
- When resurrecting at a station controlled by a hostile faction, automatically adjust the reputation up to disliked to avoid unnecessary peril
- Added latest batch of translations
- Various text fixes


NPCs
- Fix NPCs ending up with overpowered hybrid weapons
- Stop NPCs deciding to attack if they only attack opposing powers and the player and AI powers are aligned to the same superpower
- Slight rebalance of the ambient AI rank chances, should see slightly less of the top end and more of the low/mid range
- Smooth out the mission-spawned USS AI levels so that high ranks are rarer and only elite missions hit the top end ai (though deadly can get close)


Engineers
- Un-filter blueprints when entering the blueprints selection panel


Missions
- Correct Microresource contract panel is now being used in any panel at a mission's hand in stage(s). This should now indicate why a mission cannot be handed in if the player's microresource inventory is full
- Using a Discovery Scanner in Planetary Rescue or Salvage missions should now give an inbox message
- Microresouce Contract Elements now included on relevant panels
- Fix target spawn times and allow new destination delivery missions to work
- Fix landable planet issue with dynamic scan rescue


Powerplay
- Fix incorrect thresholds displayed for Fortify and Undermine actions
- Fix being unable to deliver Powerplay commodities in a handful of starsystems, including Sol
- Fix Zachary Hudson's actions when being opposed by other Federal powers
- Fix supporters of Independent powers being unable to earn merits from conflict zones
- Fix a bug in the Powerplay turn processor so it once again gives the correct result for preparations

Power Play is still utterly messed up

1 - Patreus is in Turmoil and might lose his capital? (Utter nonsense?)
2 - Patreus is in Turmoil and it does not know which system he might lose if he does not fix his balance and no one knows which system to attack
3 - All powers have not got the expansions they prepared last week expansion. A terrible waste of players time and effort
4 - Merits earned in combat are bugged. Making the remaining 1/3 of power play almost entirely pointless
5 - Preparations from last week have been carried over to this week, however the value of the systems have dramatically changed making the majority of th them worthless. This means billions of credits and hours of player time *must* be invested to fix this problem caused by FDevs latest 'fix'
6 - Nominations did not work last cycle and are not working this cycle either

The parts of Power play
System Values CC - Massive swings from positive to negative making all planing almost entirely pointless
Preparations - Utterly broken and the fix for this has been placed o teh players shoulders
Nominations - 100% broken
Expansions - 100% broken
Combat Merits - Bugged. Ongoing reports of them not working. No expansions-also means only bugged undermining is available
Fortification - Delayed and made nearly entirely pointless

This is what I can see from a five minute glance at Power Play. Its take me longer to write this post than to find these bugs.

FD can not seriously expect people to want to be part of a new power when there are constant issues with existing one. I think the new power players will find their enjoyment of Elite will be undermined rather than enhanced. I woud recommend that they with draw from the Dangerous Games until the bugs are fixed and spare themselves a whole galaxy of pain.


I am usually try and be up beat and positive but this really is a poor state of affairs.

I think this is due to the extremely high level of traffic at the engineers bases.

Every time I've had a long drop I've turned up to find a queue, the quick ones there's just 1-2 cmdrs
 
I can still see the bug with "can you get those items to use sooner..." inbox notifications with time left 0H,0M ...

People are bad because they avoid being challenged.

Good quality play and enemies improves your game play.

Problem is all the pve and solo bunnies rather than training up to it and engaging in a bit of pvp to expose their shortcomings so they could be worked on opted to sleepwalk through the game instead and learn nothing.

The new AI brought me back into elite as I'd dropped it shortly after horizons and I was thrilled. Did see a few shaky things though luke jumping Npcs crossing distances of 25km instantly or pythons getting one shotted so people getting slaughtered prior to the engineers tweak shouldn't feel too bad.

I don't want the AI dropped. There's no piracy game in elite and because of that no human bounty hunting because any time anyone's bounty gets to big or they need to do some trading they're off to mobius. Open game is dead and pve up until now may as well have been space truck simulator.

That's a very niche market they're catering for and I can't see interest for a lot of people continuing after nms and citizen get released unless there's a serious boost in features that I'm not sure fronteir has the resources to deliver on time. Certainly not by their current published schedule.

Thargoids may be interesting for a while but I can't see them being made any real challenge without the soli and pve bunnies threatening to quit all over again and getting everything nerfed.
 
Okay so I guess the scoop-up-cargo-dropped-by-NPCs-and-Players-bug is still around? I've reported it on several occations, and I know alot of others have. I may be a Pirate, and this might mainly affect people like me, but it will also affect anyone wanting to help out another player. doesn't matter if cargo is dropped by NPC or by Players, and doesn't matter if it is legal or illegal. the only stuff I've been able to scoop up so far is the canisters found on planets in small bases with skimmers. other than that, I haven't been able to scoop up anything. alot more people have reported the same issue.

Be warned, many pirates, including myself, will go on a PvP killing spree if this isn't solved soon, because the main two things we do is Piracy and PvP, and without any kind of Piracy... well... PvP killing spree is all that is left. which in turn will make more people whine about that on the forums. I know you guys at FD aim to please almost all player groups, but for the safety of the unprepared, please fix that bug ASAP, or a PvP Killing spree is sure to happen very soon.

I think you forgot to mention combat logging.......... you got just about all the other things used to predict the death of Elite.

I dont think engineer upgrades on NPC ships are (were) the problem and mainly frusturation, the real frusturation is to not even being able to aim at npc with its AI even if you try your hardest with boosting+having all pips in engines+flight assist

NMS = explore, shoot some stuff and that's' about it

Star citizen = pay to win in 100 systems. i am a backer of this but cannot bring myself to play it anymore and have not for about a year its going to be a very different game to Elite. more like Eve with little boys crying because people did not do what he wanted and now his $400 ship is gone booohooo

Happen to me too,same place,i thought my net got down....

I was in solo because i was affraid of cmdrs traffic and happen same to me,no traffic at base.
 
Anyone tested the updated AI? I need to know. Before i start crying....
Not sure what was modified and what not .. I took my Vette in a SC walk for some USS.... after 1 min I was interdicted by an Deadly Conda ( I am just Master) and send me a Hello ! with thermal attack :D I took the fight to see how is going, but he just w.o. when police arrived :S so what is changed ? kept the high end guns and lowered the fight aspect ? ( make him smart.. to run ?) so, I have to see more..
