Release Elite Dangerous HUD Mod (EDHM)

please steam conroller support. it is blocked right now, i tried overlay out. all tip i found with google nothing help. controller is not working with the mod :-(

The incompatibility is with the modding software (3Dmigoto) and not the mod specifically. I didn't create 3Dmigoto so it's not something I can fix unfortunately

But please try the solution Paul Smith the 3rd mentioned

How do you activate the 'desktop profile'? I get heaps of questions about this and it sounds like a good solution

Steam/Settings/Controller. From there you can set the desktop configuration. If it's some fancy configuration it's best to make it as a game profile first ,save it, and then load it as desktop config. Don't change anything on the profile in the desktop configuration as some parts get omitted or cut. I don't use big picture, wherefore I don't know if 3dmigoto works with it.

Is this mod able to change the blue lighting strips in the Clipper cockpit?

I think from v1.4 the blue lines are dimmed slightly to remove the distracting glow, but you can't change the colours. I'll make that an option in a future version though .. I can't change v1.5 now as it's been tested and I don't want to touch anything or breathe too heavily as even tiny changes can break a heap of other stuff

First things first: your mod is amazing and I can't wait for the new version to be online (I frantically refresh your github page since yesterday XD ).

A trivial question: will the synth green colour you used for the shields will be available for other elements of the HUD?

Hi CMDR, thanks for the kind words! If you have notifications switched on for this thread then I'll announce it here when I put it on Github. It will definitely be sometime over the next 6 hours.

I haven't added many colours to this version as the main focus was incorporating an XML (any XML, any colour) that you can use to colour the panels, plus HUD elements of your choosing. So while I haven't specifically coloured other elements synth green, you can create an XML to match synth green and use that across the elements

When you put it together I'd love to see what you come up with!

Oh this is very interesting! I will read the readme files through!

Hi there.
I have been trying to remove the space dust in supercruise only. I noticed the custom INI lets you remove normal space dust, and the speed lines in supercruise (which I take are the vertical lines) but nothing that I can see for just removing the space dust that flies past your screen in supercruise.
I recall seeing an earlier post mentioning you use the dust buster mod, but it has a bunch of files that conflict with the EDHM files. I've tried just copying the shader fix file but that hasn't seemed to work, so just wondering if you could share how you managed to get dust buster to work with your EDHM mod, or if there is another way to remove the space dust in supercruise only?

If you are referring to 'space dust particles' that I often call "Snow" v1.5 has a setting in the Startup-Profile.ini to remove or recolour the snow in supercruise.

To remove the snow in versions of EDHM prior to 1.5 this can be done through the Custom.ini by adding the following code:
Code:
[ShaderOverride-13c7cd6955a2b95e]
; Snow / particles in Supercruise
Hash = 13c7cd6955a2b95e
Handling = skip

Hi CMDRs,

I'm very pleased to announce EDHM v1.5 is ready for download!

Please only download from the EDHM GitHub

v1.5 introduces custom coloured panels on the Ship, Stations and Carriers.

There are also many other features, including:
  • Coloured cabin lighting
  • Dimmer keys for the HUD and cabin lighting
  • Portrait fixes
  • Install as many XML themes as you like, and switch themes with a Hotkey
  • Your XML themes can also be applied to the HUD elements
  • Dimmed cockpit lights that shine directly in your eyes
  • Hotkey to change panel opacity, to make text easier to read when light is shining behind the panels
  • Option to remove dirty streaks from the canopy glass
  • Explorer mode, dims all internal lighting so you can focus on the scenery outside the ship
  • EDHM also works in the SRV and SLFs
Please ensure you read the installation instructions in the EDHM v1.5 Manual before installing the mod

Can this mod disable the super cruise yellow lines ?

Kind regards

The parallel ones on either side? Yes. In 1.5 look for "speed lines" in the startup-profile.ini

In previous versions open custom.ini and add the following code:
Code:
[ShaderOverride-89fe00881332dc43]
; Supercruise Speed Lines / Side Lines
Hash = 89fe00881332dc43
Handling = skip
Note that some versions have this code already entered in the custom.ini and all you have to do is remove the " ; " before the fourth line where it says handling = skip

Well that's a little bit complicated to configure correctly but truly an astonishing thing you did, thank you very much. :)

Just a little curiosity: as I asked you in a previous post before. I would like to select the "synth-green" you used for the CHUB in other elements of my HUD, is it possible to edit (for example) the light green in some way?

Thank you again for your amazing job!

Hmm abit confused over the first run/setup, I've copied extracted the .zip-file into steam\steamapps\common\Elite Dangerous\Products\elite-dangerous-64, which .bat-files to run to launch to alongside the game?

Didn't find any information about that in the pdf-manual?

EDHM-DevMode-ON.bat
EDHM-Keybinds-Essential.bat
EDHM-Keybinds-Full.bat

I'v added

[ShaderOverride-89fe00881332dc43]
; Supercruise Speed Lines / Side Lines
Hash = 89fe00881332dc43
Handling = skip

to my custom.ini also

Kind regards

Thank you once again very much for this awesome mod!! :) I have an issue with the ingame menus. They have also changed. I have checked the default values for the GUIColour in the GraphicsConfigurations.xml before unzipping the new EDHM version and I also did turn off Disable GUI efffects. Oh yes, and I did also uninstall the previous version. What could I have done wrong?

Hi, the point of this update is to put colours on the panels :)

You might prefer to run the older version 1.41 which is still on the GitHib. It has basically the same features but no mod on the panels.

However, if you'd like to turn the mod off on the panels in v1.5 then:

Open Startup-Profile.ini in a text editor

Go to this section

panel-option.PNG

And set x157 = 0

That will turn off the mod on all panels (you'll need to re-start Elite)

If you prefer to run 1.41 and need any help with that just let me know.
