Release Elite Dangerous HUD Mod (EDHM)

what is ED Profiler? 😮

look here:

Hi CMDR, yeah I love the look of Old Duck's Immersion mod, but I haven't got around to working out where it conflicts yet. I'm doing one last big EDHM update before Odyssey, it should be ready early next week. After that I can look into any shader conflicts between the mods and how to resolve them. There's also the issue of keybinds, since I use a lot of the function keys for various toggles.

But it might just be a simple adjustment for the dirty canopy .. I wonder can you please show me which shader controls that element? Or link me to a post? Unfortunately I don't have time at the moment to go through the whole Immersion mod thread, it's very long!

But if you don't have time either I'll look into it after the update,

The only conflicts would be the shaders that change HUD colors, and yours would simply replace mine. Now your d3dx.ini vs. mine file is a very different story, especially since we might be using overlapping iniparams to influence different shaders. Maybe we could agree on mapping out separate "segments" for our iniparams so we don't have a collision between the two mods.

This is assuming you're not doing much with general lighting. I believe you do something with cockpit lighting, but as long as you're not touching external lighting (things like stars and nebula and), your inside and my outside shaders should be able to coexist.

Oh, and there is also the issue of key assignments. My mod relies on many of the function keys to toggle various settings.

Hello all,
Thanks of all thanks for these awesome tools!

Sorry if the following question already was asked.
I've installed EDHM and it works fine. Now I've installed EDHM UI too but it does not change anything after hitting "apply theme".
Neither I get an error nor it changes anything. It just says "Visual Theme Applied Succesfully".
Does anybody has an idea how to fix this?

Are you 'in game'? You need to restart for EDHM UI to work, I think.

if you have enabled developer mode you can make changes to your d3dx.ini file (which stores all your colour changes)
while in-game and then reloading EDHM by pressing f11

@GeorjCostanza thanks for the outstanding work. It really improved my already great Elite Dangerous experience.
Is there any version changelog? I'm using v1.31 but since i spent a lot of time customizing the hotkeys i'm a bit concerned to update it for minimal changes.

Hi CMDR,

Thanks for the feedback! Yeah I usually provide some description of the update in the Readme file, but there isn't an official changelog.

v1.32 was mainly a FPS update for people who were getting more than the expected (approx 10%) FPS drops.

v1.4 will be going into a beta test hopefully tomorrow, so you might like to wait until that's released. And that will be my final update before Odyssey, so nothing should change after that

@GeorjCostanza
And a suggestion, since we have different ships and they have different feels, would it be a good idea to save color profiles per ship? I usually change the colors manually after switching ships.

Yeah that might be possible via the ini file. Thanks for the suggestion, I'll check it out!

Yeah that would be excellent to coordinate the mods. I only mod the cockpit lighting (8330ab10a104d1b1) and the rest I leave alone.

I was planning to do an audit of all my iniparams and conditional shading numbers before the next update, so I could have a look at the allocations in the Immersion mod and make sure there isn't an overlap with EDHM. Hopefully that would make it easier in the future to get them to work together.

As for key allocations .. I have no idea what to do about that yet :) but at least it would just be an ini update and I'm sure we could work it out

Maybe a nice project for the December holidays? :)

alright mister, will do. v1.31 is working beautifully, no fps drops so i'll hold for now. o7

Excellent idea! I also use a different HUD colour (via ED Profiler) for each of my ships, it gives every ship a unique feel and character. I literally cannot play in a ship with a "wrong" HUD colour by now :D
Can you imagine how awesome it would be if @drkaii and @GeorjCostanza worked in collaboration to make it possible? Both tools seems to complete each other and both sides would benefit like a win-win 😏

Took a free game at Epic games. I want to put a mod in my game, but it doesn't work.
(I apologize that I am Russian with bad English)

Hi CMDR,
Here's the package (attached) you need to change your combat HUD lines colour.
It contains:

Hello.
I tryed out your mod and found it very good. Thanks for the work.
But...
I am strongly unlike this dark blue/purple theme.
I could customize the theme by myself, so can you post a "shader map" for each of recolored element, like you did it in the quoted post for combat lines?
With this map CMDRs will be able to create their own color themes and share it between themselves.

So I love that it works, except I cannot use my controller. The steam fixes only work on Steam, and sadly it does not work for Epic. Anyone find a fix yet?

Hi @Eeka @rootsrat

I got the profile switcher working. This is just a quick demo with EDHM Blue and Salvage Red

You can assign a key to each profile, or use a key to cycle through the profiles. You won't be locked into any particular colour combinations, but I'll setup some nice preset combos.

And if you make your own colour for a particular element you'll be able to mix that into the combos too

This is awesome! Looking forward to try it out

Has the varying fps been resolved? I would like to give it another look if it has.

The FPS drops were resolved in v1.32 (the current version)

Prior to v1.32 I was receiving 3-5 msgs per day asking how to improve FPS, and now I receive about one every 10 days or so, and it's usually fixed with the troubleshooting section in the mod readme file.

If you're still having large FPS drops or stutters with v1.32 and you've followed the troubleshooting advice then I can only conclude there's something in your configuration that's not compatible with the modding software 3dmigoto. I'm not the author of the software so I can't predict what that might be, except for what I've detailed in the readme
