Release Elite Dangerous HUD Mod (EDHM)

I haven't seen a flashing radar on the SRV. Can you describe it a bit more for me?

Thanks very much for making the video, it really helps to see the issue

I'm currently in deep space calibrating some HUD elements, but when I finish I'll take out my SRV and check if I can replicate the bug, probably tomorrow

Have you made any changes to your GraphicsConfiguration.xml or GraphicsConfigurationOverride.xml?

And are you running any other mods like Reshade or EDFX?

Excellent mod...thanks!! I'm in oculus vr and it's working out in the black. Only thing is the blue blob. In the target circle. Does this mean enemy's will be blue?

Hi CMDR, I’m very intrigued, what’s this blue blob? :) I play oculus vr too but I don’t think I’ve seen a blue blob. Is it possible to please make a screenshot?

Privet CMDR, I haven’t forgotten you, just been very busy this week! I hope to investigate the flickering bug tonight

If someone already asked this forgive me. I looked but couldn't find it. What about the text color? Is that not editable via this tool? That is the main reason I am messing with UI. Green text is easier to read in an oculus headset.

Thanks for the great tools!

Hi CMDR,

Yeah in the next update (v1.4) I can show you where to change the text colour. However, it took me a long time to find a balance that doesn't have too many unintended side effects elsewhere. For example, the current white text has a slight blue tint, and if I remove that tint it makes all the carrier text green .. though you might like that :)

Anyways, you can activate Developer mode while you're looking for a nice colour, so you don't have to reload Elite each time you try a new value

v1.4 is in beta testing and should be ready for final release in a few days

Hi again CMDR, I've been driving my SRV around several planets but couldn't trigger the flicking effect. But I'll try going to the exact location in your video. I'm running a new version (v1.4 beta) so maybe that fixed the issue. PM me if you'd like to test the beta so we can make sure the flickering doesn't happen in the final release

Maybe we could agree on mapping out separate "segments" for our iniparams so we don't have a collision between the two mods.

Hi CMDR, I've just finished a new version of EDHM that is beta testing now. I reallocated all my iniparams .. I've left everything clear from 0 to 99 (I think that's the range of the Immersion mod?), and taken 100 to 199, hopefully that's ok?

I also named a colour after you! A homage to your original HUD colour

Thanks for the reply! Yeah, green text is my goal. It's significantly clearer in VR. (for Rift S at least)

you can try) how to get the new version?

I love Old Duck's Amazing Immersion mod, and had been using it for quite a while before I found EDHM and just couldn't part with the deep blacks and haze-free stations I had become so attached to. So, I made a combo config file that has them working together quite well. I hope this helps anyone that has been desperate to get them working together.

The config file is based on the 1.32 EDHM config file with the Amazing Immersion mod changes merged in. I documented the changes so it's easy to see where they have been made, and of course I had to remap some of the function keys. Between the two mods, all Function keys are used.

I haven't combined any of the function keys between the two mods, so some are redundant but not exactly the same and there are no conflicts. You get the wonderful deep black space, no haze in stations, clear glass, glare free stars and all the EDHM features working.

Before you use this file, be sure to backup your current working version of the d3dx.zip file. Next, depending on what mod you currently are running, you will need to install the other mod as well. None of the files from either mod conflict except for the d3dx.ini file, which you will replace with the one I have attached. So, install both mods per the instructions, then replace the d3dx.ini config file with the one I have attached.

This file uses all function keys from F1 to F12, so if you are using any of those keys in your regular Elite keybindings, you need to remap them to some other key, or change the config file.

Hi CMDR, that's an excellent initiative, thanks so much! Combining the two mods should make everything look awesome. I can't test it out at the moment as I have EDHM v1.4 installed, but hopefully it fits in easily with the new version.

v1.4 should be released on Friday or Saturday, just ironing out one last issue

Yeah there's a lot of function key competition :)

That sounds awesome. Since you created a text file for the green, orange, red shield for me and I use VR, will it still require special setup? (I still have the text file). Cheers and o7 CMDR!

Yeah all the files have changed to be compatible with the Immersion mod. However, the internal colour tables haven't changed, so you'll just be able to copy the colour values from one file to the next. Or I can do that for you, will only take a few mins
