So I was just brainstorming a small idea and while doing that I came across an idea regarding the social media in Elite universe and how it works. We the CMDRs of pilots federation get our news and all the latest happenings through Galnet which is easily accessible all across the galaxy, but what about ordinary citizens? What do they have for their daily social stuff or online activity which are equivalent to using FB, Instagram, or YT? If they have services like this then who are some of the influencers and stuff? We never hear about such things in-game even though in-game universe and lore is pretty deep.

more fluff you say? maybe some celeb gossip, perhaps a controversial coupling or marriage proposal, that kind of every day news that doesnt really affect anything ingame. Sounds like a great idea. Cant wait to see more of that kind of thing, we dont have enough of it IRL. More Rubbish Please Fdev, im sick of not having to filter through all the garbage to find anything worth noting. o7
Ha! Speaking of rubbish, didn't FDev get stricter regarding Galnet as it is? I could swear there was a lot more lore building content on Galnet when I first started playing and that spigot seems to have been twisted to reduce the flow for some time.
If you are looking for that type of content, you want to spend more time on Inara. That serves as the most used equivalent for what you're looking for from real in-game pilots across all platforms.
