Yeah some very cool designs in there... from what I could discern.

Yes. I bought the issue (on iPad) and here is a low res crop of one of the images.

What I liked most about this was actually the thing on the devs screen on the bottom. Not because I find the "truck" in itself particularly exciting, but because what that means.

If they have time to make trucks like these which most likely is "window dressing" that probably means that a lot of the other core assets (AKA ships) are pretty much done by now. So right now it looks like they are working on making the interiors of stations come alive more. :)

Great catch and I agree! We will be hopping in those trucks in the Orbis station to cut the grass. If I recall correctly, DB has already said in at least one interview that Imperial ships are ready for testing but they haven't opened up any Imperial space yet so we don't see them yet.

Not that there is no heavy lifting left to do, what with communications and friend lists and missions, etc. But we know the core graphics engine is mostly working and it seems the flight and combat physics are done except for tweaking per ship. If FD are to make a 2014 release they have a lot of content to push out the door, which means we should see a regular stream of new baubles all year.

But I have zero doubt the 3-d artists have not taken 6 months to make a single additional station and ship type. So obviously there is probably a lot of content FD already has that we cannot see. And to be fair, if I were FD I would hold at least 50% of the in-game assets in reserve until Gamma at least and even then save a few surprises. This way the Alphas and Betas don't feel like they already saw everything. :D

2015 will be just as exciting for EVA stuff...

"Repubblica.it" is the site of one of the major mainstream newspaper here in Italy. It was a surprise for me to find Braben and Elite in the first page! :D

The piece is really enthusiastic about the development of Elite Dangerous.

Funny thing is the last words, summarized, are : "Chris Roberts, inspired by David Braben, is finishing the development of Star Citizen" :D

David Brabens keynote "My other car's a Cobra MkIII at the Nordic Game 2014 conference from may 22nd. Nothing we don't already know, but nice to have in the background to tea and biscuits on a rainy tuesday evening. Over 50 minutes.

Great presentation. Must view for every fan (if you have ~50min spare time). Like Pecisk said - it helps to understand some of the design decisions.

(Maybe better to make a new thread about it?)

Nice :)

Must say it must be something to work with DB. I'd imagine its very demanding but extremely rewarding and he's right what they have delivered is of a very high quality. Definitely exceeded my expectations.
