Isn't Alpha 2.0 just the multiplayer portion? Basically Alpha 1.1 with Multiplayer... which is what I thought we were seeing in the Dev Diary.... Alpha 1.1 with Multiplayer.
What else are we expecting to see?
No idea, but if that's an old build it could be exactly the same or maybe some subtle difference here and there (like the HUD) - possibly even different ships/weapons - who knows.
Last week's peek of the week shows the multiplayer system (more orangey), so it will definitely be different
Not a hugely detailed article in fairness. Could have went into more detail for the people that may not know of the game.
They are a good bunch to have on-side though and I don't think that it should be beyond good manners to let them have a slot in the alpha so they can pump the game for the masses also.

If I wasn't a backer, and umming and aahing about the alpha, I would avoid this place like the plague... too much temptation! Maybe we'll see him if he cracks

That's a good point. Looking back at the shots, they have very cleverly chopped out the version stamp at the top left of the screen. Is there a way of telling from their screenshots which version they are running I wonder? Perhaps the aiming reticle.

That's just the mouse direction giver thingy... indicator! My words are rubbish today
!The asteroids, explosions and something about the lasers say alpha 2.x to me, and the little dot in the middle of the reticule says 2.2. I could be wrong though. Maybe they are waiting for MP to stabilize before they get into it

Ah, yes! That will be why I don't remember it. I did get my HOTAS shortly after the game was released so I had seen it before but perhaps only a couple of times. Another interesting observation in that case is that none of the YT videos I have watched seem to have been filmed by mouse and keyboard users!
Strangely they show many 1.0 sreenshots in their second part of the preview, you can see that from the lack of planet compass and fuzzy more cartoony planet rendering.
