I like the suggestion from Tom Kewell (one of the designers on Elite: Dangerous) that inducing a little motion sickness during 'stomach-turning' flight-manoeuvres might actually enhance the experience.

Lol maybe the oculus rift should have a vomit detector? :p
I fully expect to see a "VR virus" or VR experiences that trick you into playing them and then suddenly trying to make you very sick in a very short time. Trolls just won't be able to resist this sort of thing ;)

Lol David Braben looks very backed against the wall and camera in the face there :p

Very interesting mention about multiple seats in cockpits. It seems like multi crew ships are planned to exist at some point in time as the "ultimate cooperation between players".

Thanks for the links all!

@MikeVet - I have commented on the BBC website. I think the BBC ought to be bigging up Elite Dangerous not consigning it to an also ran.

In the EVA days, we could have "one of" our commanders dedicated to being crew :D

When your mate isn't on to fly with you, just play your solo commander with an NPC crew. When your mate jumps on, log out with that commander, and log in with your crew man commander.

Doesn't seem too far fetched I think.

They aren't showing that comment yet :(

Cheers for posting Nadal, great video Scott.

What really comes across is the genuine affection for DB and his work which is probably shared by the vast majority of people on these forums. Also the excitement for Elite Dangerous as Elite was and still is a game that looms large in so many people's gaming experiences and has had such a massive influence that can still be felt in so many games today.

Many great little snippets in that interview but just one thing stuck out for me.

Speculative release date September 2014 on 30 year anniversary of Elite.

THAT WOULD BE AMAZING!!! :cool::D:D

Calm, calm, calm..... However, don't rush it DEV's, do a great job, we can wait........ I Hope, fingers crossed? :)

Great video from Scott Manley.

Love the idea of players being able to buy inflatable space stations that get attached to an asteroid. Then it burns the centre out and expands into landing bays.

Would be a good thing for explorers and matches my suggestion of base stations in my explorer thread I started so time ago. I wonder if this will also help explorers save while out in deep space?

Which Joystick is that .?

Looks like an X-52 pro to me
